Position: Golden Gate DBA Location: IRVING, TX (ONSITE) Duration: Long Term Project Experience: 10+ Job Role and Responsibilities: Required Skills: Development, management, and organizational technical support for all Oracle Golden Gate environments (DEV, QA, STAGE, PROD). Implemented classic Golden Gate replication as well as integrated replication. Tested and implemented different physical and logical Backup and Recovery methods like point in time, Media recovery, and Full/partial export/import. Configure Goldengate's high availability using Oracle DBFS and Active Data Guard. Configure Golden Gate downstream mining and Integrated Components for active-passive and active-active replication. Performance tuning of SQL and procedures. This involved using trace dumps, TKPROF, Stats pack, and Net Trace. Also, specific Oracle performance parameters on a selected basis. Assist in any disaster recovery operations. Worked on many performance issues like sudden SQL plan changes due to different reasons like Bad Histograms, Bind variables, functional indexes, etc. Work with applications, technical support, and operations teams during the design, development, and implementation of service requests. Assist in the development, management, and organization of Golden Gate replication. Implemented Golden Gate to replicate data and keep databases in sync until the time of cutover. Assist with the enhancement of PROD applications and services. Assist in other Oracle replication-related duties as directed by management. Troubleshoot Oracle Golden Gate server and Golden Gate service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends. Install and configure new Golden Gate environments as requests are received. Comply with policies, standards, and best practices and assist in enforcement by notifying the Delivery Manager of deviations. Communicate with internal teams on operational support issues by attending meetings, providing input and recommendations, analysis, and findings. Participate in change weekly control board (CCB), Project Status, and other pertinent meetings. Candidate shall perform administrative tasks as requested and approved by the Delivery Manager or designee. Administrative tasks shall be defined in a Deliverable Expectations Document (DED) that includes estimated hours and costs and is mutually agreeable to both parties. Candidate shall provide weekly status reports using a template to include hours for each task performed for Oracle Golden Gate services. Nice to Have Skills: SQL skills. Oracle Golden Gate server. Qualifications: BSc/MSc in Science or Engineering with technical know-how and experience using Oracle DBSF, and SQL. 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, and control systems (IACS), or software development. Great attention to detail, with excellent oral, and written communication skills. Define key KPIs/metrics for machine connectivity/Smart Factory deployments at multiple sites. Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text. Delivery Type: If local to Dallas, then 3 days in a week at the client location in person If non-local, then 1 week in a month travel to client location in person.
