Job Description - Job Title: AWS Database Engineer Location: Las Vegas, NV (Hybrid) Duration: Long Term Work Authorization: GC, Citizens, GC EAD, H4 EAD We are seeking an experienced AWS Database Engineer with a strong background in SQL and PostgreSQL to join our dynamic team. As an AWS Database Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud-based database solutions on the Amazon Web Services platform. Your expertise in performance tuning and security implementations will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our databases. Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud-based databases, focusing on SQL and PostgreSQL. Perform thorough performance tuning and optimization of database queries and operations. Implement robust security measures, including encryption and access controls, to safeguard sensitive data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate deployment processes using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Monitor database performance using AWS CloudWatch and other relevant tools, addressing issues promptly. Drive continuous improvement by staying updated with the latest AWS database trends and technologies. Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for database systems. Strong DBA skills for PostgreSQL and SQL AWS Experience Experience setting up new databases in the Cloud MUST HAVE: Strong RDS experience. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT industry, with a focus on cloud-based database engineering. Proficiency in SQL and PostgreSQL, with a deep understanding of data modeling and schema design. Strong grasp of AWS services including Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon S3. Experience in performance tuning and optimization of database queries and operations. Expertise in implementing security measures, encryption, and access controls. Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
