AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job description: As the AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, deployment, and optimization of cloud-based network infrastructures.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience

EXCELLENT knowledge in EKS and Terraform

5+ years of IT industry experience with a focus on cloud networking

Expertise in Amazon VPC, AWS Direct Connect, AWS Transit Gateway, Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon Route 53, and more

Strong grasp of network design principles and hybrid networking configurations

Proficiency in implementing VPC security groups, IAM roles, and CloudFormation/Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.

Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, CDN, and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), or relevant technologies

Familiarity with monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch for ensuring network performance and security

Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, VPN, BGP, and VPC peering

Demonstrated ability in scaling and optimizing network resources for cost efficiency and superior performance.

Experience with network migration strategies and compliance/governance considerations

Familiarity with protocols such as SNMP, SMTP, FTP, SSH, and RDP

Understanding of AWS PrivateLink, AWS Transit Gateway Network Manager, and S3 Transfer Acceleration

Responsibilities:

Maintenance of cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability

Deploy and fine-tune key cloud services such as Amazon VPC, Elastic Load Balancing, and AWS Direct Connect

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate deployment pipelines using AWS CDK, Terraform, and Ansible

Architect and implement secure and high-performance network designs that adhere to compliance standards

Provide expertise in network protocols and troubleshooting, optimizing network performance

Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and network diagrams

Monitor cloud environments using AWS CloudWatch and other relevant tools

Collaborate closely with cloud architecture and DevOps teams to drive continuous improvement

Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for network components

Managing the scaling, security, sizing, and logical design of cloud applications

Perform regular management and maintenance of existing cloud infrastructure and applications

Manage the deployment and functionality of cloud infrastructure such as EC2 Elastic Compute Cloud, LAMBDA, VPC, RDS, EMR, S3, etc.
