Follow the coding standards recommended by Client team, perform code review with Peer /Architect team. Support for QA, UAT and prod implementation. Hands on experience with agile methodology. Good communication skills. Programmer who has specialized knowledge in the development of software with a specific emphasis in COBOL, BASIC, C and SQL. Building new applications and/or modifying existing application. Development will include new Features and Bug Fix. Engaging and keeping relationships with clients and peers. Experience to integrate newer applications with pre-existing applications legacy applications. Experience working on development projects and implements application changes. Expected to stay abreast of the available technology as well as lead assigned team of developers. Experience in HealthCare and possess sound knowledge on the various functions like Claims processing is preferred. Experience in Agile Methodology as a participant in Data gathering, requirement ceremonies. Experience with Atlassian tools: JIRA, confluence, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Openness to new ideas and an unceasing desire to learn new things. Outstanding interpersonal skills, a positive mindset and a collaborative spirit are a must have. Experience: 8+ years (10+ preferred) Required Skills: 1. VMS COBOL/ Microfocus Cobol, 2. SQL, HP Opens VMS, DTR, RDB, 3. HP BASIC, Unix, Shell Scripts, Control M Nice to have skills: Health care domain is added advantage. Roles & Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include gathering and analyzing complex business requirements for designing and creating applications in order to provide best solutions for the client utilizing HP Open VMS COBOL. Maintains technical knowledge and understanding of the latest development methodologies and best practices by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations; Ensures quality and consistency throughout the architecture and implementation of the code base Review the coding and unit test results, support the team for on-time delivery. Interacting with clients and Business Analysts for requirement gathering and analysis. Plans, coordinates, tests and implements application software related to COBOL interfaces using Agile Methodology. Support development and testing teams to resolve issues and collaborate with other IT Staff to design, develop and implement business objectives. Writing SQL queries to extract large amounts of data from Oracle database. Developing UNIX scripts to execute jobs to output files for transferring to interfacing systems using SFTP.
