This position will hybrid based in the Dallas TX requiring in office 3 times a week. Hybrid position 3 days a week in the Dallas office (A MUST EVEN as a Contractor) BANKING exp is a MUST!! Please qualify with each candidate How they test their code - the steps The process they take to test and deploy code into a production environment Top Skills required Candidate MUST be comfortable working in a production environment and have a since of ownership when deploying code. Be able to identify risks communicate them out to the team Data Engineer Technical Depth : Very comfortable with code around data ingestion and data aggregation. Should be able to demonstrate depth of experience on what is the best tool/practices to translate requirement into code that is scalable and designed for long term. ( Google /Microsoft Stack) Production Environment : This role requires ownership of how code is deployed into production. Must be detailed oriented and completely test their code before deploying it into production. There will also be times when the person will need to troubleshoot complex issues and bring to quick resolution in nights and weekends. The individual should be comfortable and demonstrate experience in this regard. Attention to detail : We deal with banking data and accuracy of numbers is very important to gain trust from our stakeholders. In addition ensure we have minimal code bugs would be very important for this role. Deal with Ambiguity and take ownership : This is a new team and we are still in the forming stage. Someone who understands and is comfortable with change in direction/agile mindset will be successful in this role. Excellent Python and SQL to be able to navigate around - validate and understand the data Understand Cloud Tools - ETL skills and ability to pull data from many sources. Data Engineering Best Practices Diagnostic and Troubleshooting skills May be on rotation for support initially Interview Process ONSIGHT Technical Interview with the Team Interview with Hiring Manager Interview with CDO - maybe Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write good technical Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations. Ability to write simple-to-business correspondence, routine reports, and procedures. Ability to effectively speak, respond to questions, and present information to the following: one-on-one /small groups, customers, employees, clients, managers, top management, public groups, board of directors, and the general public. Education and/or Experience BS/BA Degree (four year) from an accredited university/college AND Four to ten years of experience as a Data Engineer Computer Skills Experienced with SQL and data warehousing, particularly star schema models Python experience required Google Big Query, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, or similar tools Experience with cloud-based GCP data warehouse platforms a plus Git source control and Agile methodology preferred Power BI or similar tools highly preferred R, SAS or other relevant experience in data analytics is a plus C#, Java, or similar programming experience a plus MS Office programs Certificates, Licenses, Registrations GCP certification is a plus Other Qualifications (including physical requirements) Strong oral and written communication skills.
