Role: Storage and Data Protection Consultant Location: Ewing, NJ Fully Onsite then Hybrid (3 days in a week) Duration: 6+ Months Interview: Video/ Phone Visa: USC Must have active LinkedIn profile Job Description: Select, evaluate, install, and configure data protection solutions and perform day-to-day operational management of the data protection environment. configuration and testing of data recovery solutions designed to respond to disaster recovery and malware related events. planning and technical lead for the team in performing data recoveries during Disaster Recovery exercises. installation and configuration of storage solutions and day-to-day operational management of the storage environment(s) Experience: Hands-on configuration and management of some of the following technologies: Data Protection: Commvault, Veeam, N2WS (CPM), AWS Backup Network Attached Storage (NAS): EMC Isilon, AWS FSx Object storage: AWS S3 Block storage: EMC Unity, EMC VNXe, PURE X-series Storage networking: Cisco MDS, DCNM Requirements: Significant time working in support of a production IT environment. Strong communication skills Ability to manage and escalate incidents and to see them through to resolution. Experience supporting virtual environments and operating systems: windows, VMware, Linux, AWS-ec2. Experience in documenting procedures, environments, and project work Participation in a 7-day on call rotation and occasional weekend work Responsibilities: Data management: Plan and perform environment refresh and migrations. Identify opportunities to improve data and systems security. Develop new or enhance existing data protection procedures and solutions. Review daily reports and resolve issues. Incident management: Take ownership of incidents, analyze, enlist help and work to identify root cause. Act as primary focal point for troubleshooting issues, even if outside of core competencies Work with various IT and business teams to identify and resolve issues whether internal, external, public cloud based, etc. Operations and monitoring: Storage management: block and NAS capacity allocations, SAN zoning, etc. Maintain storage applications: patching, upgrades, feature configuration. Monitoring and performance analysis of the storage and backup components Perform data backup and recovery activities. Manage change requests, work orders and support tickets and see them through to completion. Support various computing environments: Ability to identify and deliver solutions for on premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. Ability to understand and apply appropriate security concepts, controls, and processes. Participate in annual business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) testing. Training: Proactively stay in-step with technology changes through self-learning Cross-train team members Attend technical and security-oriented training sessions to learn new and develop existing skills. Network with peers Desired Length and Type of Experience: 5+ years of experience working in a production Information Technology environment. 3+ years of experience managing Data Protection solutions/environments.
