The effort will be a mix of onsite and remote work, with an initial assessment onsite, after which the hybrid arrangement would be defined. This effort could run at least 12 to 18 months and the onsite work would be at DPOR's 9960 Mayland Drive offices at the beginning until telework is determined and evaluated. IN PERSON Interviews required so must be local or willing to come to their facility and interview IN PERSON (no exceptions!) ABOUT THE ROLE This resource will analyze DPOR's current three IT systems in order to understand how the data is stored and related. This resource will leverage that knowledge in order to write SQL to extract (and possibly transform) that data. DPOR is about to undertake a project to implement a SaaS licensing and enforcement solution. DPOR will need someone who can learn its existing systems and the data underlying them to extract (and possibly transform) the data so that it can be loaded into the new solution. If there is down time during this effort, it would be highly desirable for this person to be able to put together reports and dashboards especially if it can be performed in Power BI. A major part of this project will be to convert data from DPOR's existing systems to its new system. I don't believe that we will need someone with specific ETL tool experience. Rather I believe that we will need someone with the following skills: REQUIRED: 1. Able to analyze existing systems including screens and available documentation (e.g., data models or data dictionaries) to understand how the underlying data is organized, interrelated and stored in various databases as well as identify where there may be data anomalies / inconsistencies 2. Able to interact with and ask pertinent questions of system users to understand the organization and relationship of data in the systems and map data from source systems to target templates/systems 3. Able to create clear, concise and complete documentation (e.g., data models, data dictionaries) regarding the organization and use of data in existing systems 4. Able to accurately map data from source systems to target templates/systems and resolve issues stemming from the mapping efforts 5. Strong working knowledge in Oracle (predominantly) and SQL Server creating complex queries, views, functions and stored procedures that leverages knowledge gained from analyzing systems and underlying data organization to extract / transform data into a vendor defined (TBD) format 6. Experience developing and testing data extraction and transformation routines PREFERRED 7. (not a primary skill, but a strong secondary skill that would be used when the above skills are not being used) - Able to perform data analysis and put together meaningful reports / dashboards using an agencies existing data 8. (preference though not required) - Strong working experience with Microsoft Power BI DPOR would like to bring on a resource with the above skillset as soon as possible. The reason for the urgency is that DPOR would like to for this resource to have a little time to acclimate and learn DPOR's existing systems so that when the time comes to begin converting data, the resource is ready to meet the need.
