Some level of Data Architecture experience Job Description The Data Architect, Data & Analytics is responsible for designing and implementing the Analytics Data framework, which broadly serves to contextualize enterprise data while making the most relevant data readily accessible to key business users. The Architect will also be tasked with standardizing the process of data collection, organization, transformation, distribution, and usage. This role collaborates with multiple departments, business leaders and external vendors. As such the Architect must understand the system development life cycle, project management approaches, and modern design techniques while communicating clearly, simply, and effectively. Key Essential Duties include: Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data. Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating operations, applications, and programming. Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations. Install and organize information systems to guarantee company functionality. Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions. Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features. Recommend solutions to improve new and existing operational data assets. Partner with corporate departments, identify areas where data is underutilized and create action plans that capitalize on data use. Additional Skills & Qualifications Any experience working with Snowflake is a VERY nice to have for this role. United Rentals has started the process of migrating their EDW from Teradata to Snowflake and this person will play a part in that process, although this is not the sole project they will be needed for. Also, they are looking for someone with a strong enough business acumen to be able to sit with folks, from data analysts to business facing individuals, to understand what they are trying to accomplish from a business perspective and then model dimensions and measures to be able to perform their analysis.
