Our client is looking for a self-motivated, hands-on IT Specialist with a broad manufacturing experience to provide customer-facing support for all facets of IT at our fast-paced, demanding bus manufacturing facility.

In this role, you will be the first point of customer engagement, providing proactive, contemplative, and comprehensive day-to-day technical support from initial challenge through resolution. While helping to grow end user understanding and use of technology, your Industry 4.0 recommendations will foster a trusted and collaborative environment for delivering solutions that meet the business need and align with IT strategy. A demonstrated methodical approach to troubleshooting and ability to think on your feet is woven throughout your work experience. If you do not know the correct answer, you quickly get it through self-drive, initiative, insight, and respectful determination because correct answers are seldom handed to us without our effort.

You have a strong aptitude for working with computers, servers, applications, databases, and interfaces to shopfloor equipment in support and triage of a 24x7 IT environment where incidents require a strong sense of urgency, keen ability to accumulate bits of information to diagnose, anticipate, and avoid problems, and simplification of complex and chaotic situations. Your collaborative nature to initiate communication with cross-functional teams flattens your learning curve and enables your expedited support of local and enterprise systems that are critical to manufacturing operations. Using emotional intelligence, you are able to diffuse volatile situations to bring a sense of calm that enables productive advancements.

Ability to lift 50 lbs is required.

Database systems (Oracle, SQL, DB2)

Experience with Microsoft Server and Desktop technologies

Understanding of VMware, Hyper-V Virtualization technologies

Candidate is expected to possess a work history that demonstrates proven experience working their way through the various fields of IT, from service desk technician, desktop and hardware support, application support, business analysis, system analysis, server administration, database administration, networking, and data analytics.

Strong experience in effectively supporting systems in a fast-paced, demanding manufacturing environment is needed for success in this role

Exceptional customer service to engage and empathize with customers in the support and resolution of technical issues and requests through completion, including communication at all phases

Proactively engages in the delivery of a full range of end user support services inclusive of identification, coordination, site preparation, configuration, installation, re-location, and maintenance of IT equipment and systems such as desktops, laptops, and printers, as well as any other desktop support or any relevant work requiring a physical touch

Supported applications include a variety of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), in-house, and shopfloor point solutions. Examples include Dynics ProView DS for ANDON, ATS Inspect for defect tracking, Infor BaaN ERP, PINpoint process control, PTC Kepware, Atlas Copco Tooling software, Microsoft Power BI, Loftware/NiceLabel, compliance-driven traceability systems, bill of process enabling rules engine, and other customized utilities that are critical to daily operations.

Functional Responsibilities

Performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, installation, maintenance, and implementation of applications, packaged programs, and hardware components supporting company business processes and operations

Evaluates, analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, designs, tests, and supports operating systems, database, utilities software, packaged software, infrastructure hardware products, IoT devices, and integrations with enterprise-wide systems

Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with customer software, packaged software, and hardware products

May contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure used throughout the IT solution set.

Data Warehouse experience that demonstrates the ability to gather data from production systems, create data models, and establish decision making dashboards and reporting

Responsible for executing computer and network device "break/fix" solutions and simple-to-complex installation, additions, or changes of requirements for peripherals and device drivers

Accurately documents all work performed through ticketing system including details and outcomes, maintains client environment-related documentation in Knowledge Management System (KMS), documents procedures for managing technologies, prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation
