Position : Data Modeler Location : hybrid setup: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote , NYC Duration : 6 months C2h Visa: USC/GC only Interview : Phone / video Job Description: Westfield Specialty is a start-up segment within Westfield Group, an Ohio-based insurer providing both personal and commercial lines insurance for 175 years. Westfield Specialty launched operations in Q3 2021 with eight specialty products with this product set anticipated to expand over time. OVERVIEW : We are seeking a Data Modeler preferrable with experience in Property & Casualty Insurance. The ideal candidate should design, implement, and document data architecture and data modeling solutions, which include the use of relational, dimensional databases. These solutions will support business intelligence for operational, financial, actuarial, regulatory, analytics and other P&C insurance business interests. The successful candidate will: Be responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models, implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on Snowflake data platform on AWS. Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and optimization of data query performance via best practices. Responsibilities Implement business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across all data platforms and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning). Work with all business division and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models to meet operational, actuarial, financial, and regulatory reporting needs Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models. Identify the architecture, infrastructure, and interfaces to data sources, tools supporting automated data loads, security concerns, analytic models, and data visualization. Hands-on modeling, design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, and sandbox POC. Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks. Skills Bachelors or masters degree in computer/data science technical or related experience. Experience designing and building data warehouses for P&C insurance business Knowledge of Guidewire PC, BC and CC application and database would be preferred 5+ years of hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, Snowflake, and DBT or other ETL and data ingestion protocols). Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others). Experience in communication and presentation.
