Work Arrangement- Hybrid, Resources are currently working 100% remote, however resources who are in the Indianapolis area may be required to report to the office for various meetings or if alternative work schedules change Short Description: SR. level Data Warehouse Architect needed to work with the data team to establish multiple data assists to be built once the data warehouse environment is implemented and setup data schemas, bridging data and cleansing and staging data for business use. The first tactical step in that journey is the establishment of dashboards for the purpose of monitoring the health of the agencys unemployment system. The range of dashboards include visualization into business transactions (new and historical), the various business backlogs and outstanding workloads, employee performance and if possible, workload projections. DWD seeks an individual who can bring senior level experience necessary to setup the data schemas, the bridging of data from core systems as well as the cleansing and staging of data for business use (business analysis, visual aids and reporting). More importantly, DWD seeks an individual who can guide and educate an IT Data Team on effective designs and procedures using current industry standards and best practices. Essential Job Responsibilities: The essential functions of this role are as follows: Participate with a Product Owner (PO) and/or Business Analyst (BA) in gathering business requirements. Participate with a team of business stakeholders, junior Tableau developer(s), BA and PO in developing wireframes and other dashboard mockups. Provide guidance and experience to best practice in designing Data Lakes, Data Marts, and other data assets to be presented to the business. Develop data mappings, data flows and data cleansing procedures. Provide education and guidance to other data group members in effective data asset development. In general, act as a lead in effective data designs starting with data selection from core system, data transfer and cleansing, to final data presentation. Participate with other Data Analyst(s) as needed to define minimal viable data assets in support of the visual needs. Assist the PO in estimating scope and time as it relates to development of data transfers, cleansing and promotion, and as it relates to staffing level. Assist the PO and/or BA in doing Inspect & Adapt reviews with the business. Advice management as needed of any shortcomings with current tools and/or approaches related to the business initiatives. Requirements: Extensive knowledge of information systems design principles and new systems design techniques. Extensive knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques used for data application development. Ability to perform problem solving and analytical analysis on complex issues. A very strong understanding of system development using a lean agile approach. Extensive knowledge of both system and business applications and competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of data applications systems analysis and developing activities. Willingness to train/educate other Data Analysts, Business Analysts and other data team members in effective data designs/approaches. Willingness to train/educate junior Data Analysts in effective data transfer and development. Experience in using a wide range of ETL tool Talend and Data Factory. Some experience in using the Tableau Studio tools is desired. Extensive knowledge of the most recent advancement in data transfer, cleansing and promotion. Ability to read and understand complicated technical instructions. Ability to manage multiple application development assignments and priorities. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. The Data Warehouse Architect performs a broad range of activities within a state-of-the-art Information Technology area. Although most of the effort will center around building data assets from scratch, work involves using considerable judgment in selecting the most pertinent guidelines to follow and in-depth analysis of multiple variables to fit various circumstances of a medium to complex enterprise-wide system. Incumbent applies general Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles and industry standards to accomplish agency automation goals.
