This role will wear multiple hats assisting the Enterprise Networking Architect and operations team to comprehend objectives, generate solutions, POC the solution, generate recommendations then implement the decisions. This resource will be a principal architect/engineer involved in the design, implementation and management of technology-based business solutions based on datacenter networking to improve the datacenter network. We are looking for a collaborative team player that is comfortable supporting a hybrid workforce at all levels of the organization. Applicants should possess exceptional analytical, communication and critical thinking skills along with an understanding of the Agile framework. This position will assist with the architecture and implementation of the Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) build out of the datacenter network. This position will also be working with other enterprise network architects supporting the overall strategic, technical, architectural, and administrative oversight of the enterprise network and infrastructure environments throughout the agency. Responsibilities will include all functions required to plan, design, optimize, implement, manage, and trouble-shoot escalated issues within the enterprise network infrastructure. Data Center Automation. Remediating security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests. Mentoring junior engineers. Standard concepts, practices, and procedures specifically related to Cisco Data Center network support. Ability to independently perform a wide variety of complicated tasks. Good communication skills. Critical skill thinking. Strong understanding of virtual networks and general network management functions. Expert guidance regarding network infrastructure. Interpret and provide solutions on complex technologies/architectures. Provide strategic and support representing Design Services and IT Strategy as a Subject Matter Expert as an enterprise network architect. Identify and prioritize critical business functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders. Assist in developing solutions to existing and upcoming technical problems. Assist with supporting infrastructure solutions to existing or upcoming technical needs or problems. Implementation and support of data center network solutions. Analyze, assist with design, document, and migratations. Develop remediation plans for security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests. Lead the development of technical artifacts including Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Detailed Technical Design, Security Architecture Plan, Services Description Document, etc. Monitor, upgrade, troubleshooting and maintenance for the network infrastructure. Identify and prioritize critical business functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders. Consult with vendor product specialists, independent research organizations, on-site support engineers on best-fit technologies to ensure compliance to department policies & standards and technology roadmap. Communicate complex technical concepts to individuals of various technical ability. Consult with vendor product specialists/sales, independent research organizations, on-site support engineers and fellow architects and administrators on best-fit technologies to ensure compliance to department policies & standards and technology roadmap. Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture team for technology validation or suggestions for alternative solutions. If necessary, initiate Solution Assessments, Infrastructure Service. Plan and develop support processes that adhere to best practices (ITIL). Provide support with performance analysis & troubleshooting. Provide direct support to technical and non-technical entities to define requirements and deliver solutions to meet organizational needs including new environment deployment, upgrades, performance tuning, testing and disaster recovery. Document and Knowledge transfer, document architecture, design decisions, and setup instructions for future reference and onboarding of new team members. Provide support and subject matter expertise with respect to adherence to best practice security framework controls and other industry-based regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800-37, 800-53, 800-171, 800-204, 800-207, CIS, PCI, IRS-Pub 1075, CJIS, and related). Build and maintain relationships across organizational teams. Provide resolution of conflicts, connectivity, and security issues. Prepare information for presentations. Mentor staff on tips, techniques and best practices to be utilized for the infrastructure environment. Experience, Skills, Knowledge: Required Skills 7+ years of experience 5 years proven knowledge, skills and experience in Data Center networking and operations system fundamentals 5 years experience in provisioning, managing and coordinating medium to large scale Data Center networks 5 years experience with R&S and Layer 2/3 Engineering skills 3-5 years solid Cisco R/S, Nexus and Catalyst skills 3-5 years CISCO UCS and VMWare knowledge and expertise 7 years in depth understanding of enterprise datacenter technologies including networking, security, NAS, Cloud Computing and physical datacenter practices 5 years experience in remediating security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests 7 years ability to design, implement, and maintain solutions with adherence to industry compliance such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO and identify policy violations 3 years experience to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) Certification - REQUIRED 7 years strong experience with SD-WAN & SDN solutions is highly desired 3 years experience with IP-based and Fiber networking for SAN/NAS technologies is desired Location: Fully Remote MUST be located in the US. Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.Expectation to be online using MS Teams during business hours.
