Job: Geospatial Solutions Developer Senior Location: Madison, WI (Hybrid) Term: 12 + Months Visa : NO OPT AND H1B Linked in must Job Description : The state of Wisconsin is seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Solutions Developer Senior to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, designing, and implementing GIS software releases, system upgrades, and managing desktop and server-based software infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the continuity of operations, administration, and troubleshooting of GIS applications and data repository hosting components. Additionally, you will contribute to the integration of internal business systems across multiple functional areas, including the evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise infrastructure integration, mobile GIS tools, and advanced web mapping systems. Effective communication and collaboration with GIS support staff and program customers will be essential to ensure business deliverable continuity. Responsibilities: Provide expert-level consultation and recommendations for upgrading and rebuilding existing ESRI server infrastructure to the latest supported Windows Server operating system and the most appropriate version of ESRI Server products. Offer consultation, implementation services, and support transition efforts for migrating existing ESRI server infrastructure to a new hosting environment and provider. Assess API map/data services for external clients and create workflows for constructing and maintaining password-protected ArcGIS online services for external users. Collaborate with the Technical Architect on Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, such as Azure for internal customers and Okta for external clients. Transition an existing Spatial Database Engine (SDE) and spatial data from ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 to an ArcPro-capable database, potentially including intermediate transition steps. Link SQL tables to the new ArcPro database and establish workflows for updates to keep tables current or establish a live link to specific SQL tables. Develop a roadmap to onboard additional program area staff onto ArcGIS Pro, including identifying necessary changes in workflows and data structures. Identify opportunities to leverage new features in ArcGIS Pro. Support staff in transitioning to ArcGIS Pro while providing systems education to more technical staff who support the program area. Develop and implement a roadmap to shift the server to the latest stable version of ArcGIS Enterprise. Provide advice on the capabilities of ESRI Mobile applications and solutions. Required Skills: Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Exceptional customer service orientation. Experience working both independently and within a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Expert-level experience with ArcGIS Pro. Experience with ArcGIS Server/REST, including external-facing services and integrations. Experience with ArcGIS Server/Enterprise software 10.8 and newer. Experience troubleshooting ArcGIS and related services. Familiarity with Windows Server 2022. Desired Skills: Experience with SQL Server. Experience with technical planning and communication, pre and post-migration documentation, and change management. Ability to communicate effectively and translate complicated technical topics for a non-IT audience, including historians, librarians, archaeologists, anthropologists, and cultural resource specialists. Ability to communicate effectively with an IT but non-GIS audience.
