ABOUT THE ROLE: Reason for this need: Corovan is in the middle of an ERP deployment and they would like to get some additional immediate help for one of their team members who is a database developer. Is well versed in SQL select statements using joins and where clauses Can export results of SQL queries to spreadsheet or delimited file Is comfortable creating new tables and populating them from files Is familiar with the use of mapping/lookup tables Can read and troubleshoot SQL stored procedures Can write stored procedures to transform data using mapping/lookup tables. Can configure notifications in SQL Server and trigger them based on errors or other stored procedure results. Has used data cleansing techniques to filter or correct bad data and remove redundant data Work in Excel to manage and update data, including the use of Infors Excel reporting add-in Additional nice-to-haves but not required: o Some level of familiarity with Visual Studio, C# development, VB troubleshooting, Entity Framework and inline application SQL. The Senior Database/BI Developer position is responsible for helping transition Corovan to 3rd party ERP data models and maintaining business-critical data processing and business intelligence operations on an ongoing basis. The Senior Database Developer will work as a developer while also providing technical leadership in master data management and BI development. Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the full lifecycle of infrastructure and technology solutions supporting Corovan. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Intelligence Development: Provide technical expertise using BI tools to help define, architect and build BI processes benefiting the entire organization. Create informative, actionable and accurate reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement. Design and implement ongoing ETL processes supporting BI needs. Promote improved data visibility with business intelligence solutions, and act as a thought leader in maturing Corovans approach to BI. Strategic Planning and Analysis: Help plan and implement the cleaning and migration of critical data between data models using ETL best practices. Gather and document requirements for extensions to ERP data models based on business needs. Act as a primary owner of the master data management architecture for the organization. Study system capabilities, construct data model visualizations, and write specifications. Collaborate with the IT Director and application business owners to support existing applications and to design and implement new solutions to meet changing business needs. Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats. Participate in designing database backup and data-refresh procedures for on premise systems. Database Development: Design and develop Microsoft SQL stored procedures, T-SQL, views, ETL solutions, as well as reports via SSRS and SSIS. Maintain legacy data access code in stored procedures and other database objects as well as .Net web applications. Maintain and document existing custom and third-party integrated solutions. Collaborate and recommend design modifications and improvements with other software developers throughout the development process. Gather and document business requirements and project scope, user stories, detail functional specifications and effectively communicate project deliverables. Investigate gaps and inconsistencies in application and report data to determine root causes and propose remediation options. Design, implement and document stopgap procedures needed for routine data cleaning or to maintain data integrity. Review and approve other developers scripts for making changes to database objects. Assist with the improvement of our Agile SDLC, Scrum, and other processes. Create and execute test plans and test cases to support the quality assurance process. Maintain an understanding of the latest application and programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups. Confer with team to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, choose solutions, and share knowledge.
