HYBRID Must be at Con Ed location 2-3 days a week Duration 12+ Mos. Phone/Skype Assignment Details Information Technology seeks to hire a highly motivated and dedicated professional to support the integration of O&R's GIS platform (NRG) to the Maximo platform, which is to replace several legacy mainframe-based systems for asset management. The candidate must be well versed in Linux environment and scripting, experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL database and database tools. Must be able to debug and trace log files, Bash/Korn/Python scripts and PL/SQL. Previous work experience in the utility industry and a general knowledge of GIS applications (or similar application) and Electric Distribution System is a plus. Skills & Requirements Linux knowledge and proficiency in navigating the command line/familiarity with common Linux tools preferably RHEL but experience with other distributions acceptable Bash/Korn shell scripting Perl is a plus Database knowledge Proficiency writing SQL and SQL scripts PostgreSQL preferred, Oracle a plus The following are not required for this position but would be considered as a valuable asset in a potential candidate. Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Math/Science or Engineering) is preferred. Knowledge of mainframe technology (DB2, Cobol) preferred but not required. Knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) preferred but not required. Knowledge and experience integrating systems preferred.
