From: komal, Incom Technologies Inc [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Database Administrator (Senior) AWS Cloud Project Name: Maryland Total Human-services Integrated NetworK Client : Maryland Department of Human Services Location: Hybrid based on assignment/team needs Interview Type: Phone/Video Interview Duration of the Contract 1 Year with Possible extension for 5 more years Anticipated Start Date 09/18/2023 Visa Requirements At least 6 months of valid work authorization (Citizen, GC, EAD, H-1B, OPT-EAD, H4-EAD) Minimum US Experience 3 Years Note : Candidate must be local to MD,VA,DC or atleast they should have state or federal client experience Duties: Ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of databases, including Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and MongoDB Manage and administer the AWS-based databases, including Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and MongoDB, ensuring high availability and data integrity. Monitor and tune the performance of databases to maintain optimal efficiency and responsiveness, addressing performance bottlenecks proactively. Implement and oversee database backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data is protected and can be restored as needed. Implement and enforce security measures, access controls, and encryption protocols to protect sensitive data stored in the databases. Plan and execute database upgrades and patching, staying current with the latest releases and security fixes. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for the databases, including failover and replication mechanisms. Identify and resolve database-related issues, working closely with development teams and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Assist with database migration efforts, ensuring smooth data transfer and minimal downtime during migrations. Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Identify opportunities for automation in database administration tasks and develop scripts or tools to streamline repetitive processes. Stay informed about AWS cloud best practices and recommendations, implementing these practices in database management. Ensure that databases adhere to regulatory compliance standards and participate in audits as needed. Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. A Master's Degree is preferred. Experience: At least ten (10) years of experience as a Senior Database Administrator, managing diverse databases in an AWS cloud environment. Expertise in administering Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and MongoDB databases. Strong understanding of database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security best practices. Familiarity with AWS cloud services, IAM roles, and security groups for database administration. Experience with database migration tools and techniques. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address database-related issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
