In this role, you will be responsible for performing basic Windows administration tasks, monitoring system resources (memory and CPU), resolving ticket backlogs efficiently, and automating incident resolution processes where applicable. Your contributions will play a crucial role in maintaining the stability and performance of our IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Windows System Administration: Manage and maintain Windows servers, ensuring they are up-to-date and properly configured. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and server applications. Perform routine system updates, patches, and security configurations. Monitor system logs and event logs to identify and address potential issues proactively. Resource Monitoring: Monitor system resource utilization, including memory and CPU usage. Set up monitoring tools to alert on resource bottlenecks and performance anomalies. Analyze performance data to identify trends and recommend optimizations. Ticket Backlog Resolution: Prioritize and resolve incident tickets in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to users. Collaborate with other IT teams and support personnel to resolve complex issues. Maintain accurate records of incident resolutions and follow-up actions. Automation of Incident Resolution: Identify opportunities for automating common incident resolution tasks. Develop and implement automation scripts and workflows to improve incident response times. Continuously optimize and expand automation efforts to reduce manual intervention. Security and Compliance: Enforce security policies and best practices to safeguard Windows servers and systems. Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Share knowledge and collaborate with team members to improve collective expertise. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience in Windows system administration and server management. Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems (Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, etc.). Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation. Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, or similar). Ability to analyze system performance data and identify areas for improvement. Understanding of security best practices and experience with server hardening. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
