I sincerely appreciate your time Title : AS 400 Admin(IBM Iseries) Position : Remote The team is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the MMC IBMi server estate. In addition, they manage the supporting infrastructure attached to the IBMi including the HMC, storage and some tape libraries. Activities included are (but not limited to): patching, capacity management, server maintenance, backup management, performance management, security, audit compliance, disaster recovery, server commissioning and decommissioning. The applicant will design and implement solutions to improve and consolidate the IBMi estate and supporting infrastructure. This would involve keeping abreast with latest technology advances IBMi Server Operations Support Roles: - Incident Management for IBMi - Problem Management for IBMi - Change Management for IBMi - Configuration Management for IBMi - Audit Compliance Management for IBMi - Operating system and hardware performance management - Operating system and hardware capacity management - Management and maintenance of deployed MGTI standard tools including upgrades - Availability Management and SLA adherence - Operational Documentation & Reporting Management - Vendor Management (split responsibility) - Backup Management (split responsibility) IBMi Global Server Ops tasks include but not limited to; - Solution Design and implementation o Design, install, configure and manage IBM Power servers, HMC, IBMi LPARs, VIOS & storage implementations (Storwise / MMC VMAX). Vmax is managed in conjunction with storage teams o QA checks & production acceptance of commissioned server builds to ensure they meet MMC standards o Manage hardware / software encryption o Configure Role Swap and MFA for IBMi elevated access (Precisely Software) o Manage and perform the decommissioning of servers o Represent IBMi Server Ops in project meetings - BAU Support of IBMi systems and supporting infrastructure o Participate in System i Operations on-call rotation and 24/7 on-duty support o Manage global BAU change and incident queue for MGTI GL AS400 Support o Diagnose and resolve operating system and hardware incidents within SLA o Follow the hand over process between regions ensuring knowledge is transferred o Perform root cause analysis for problems and provide updates to problem management team - Backup Management & Disaster Recovery o Install configure and manage BRMS (Backup Management software for IBMi) & BRMS Network o Rebuild production & development servers when they are irrecoverable using BRMS recovery reports o Design DR solutions and perform Disaster Recovery exercises o Install configure and manage in-house DR solutions (VMAX replication, VMRM / DR Orchestrator) o Offline backup solutions using SnapVX and/or Flashfori to automate offline backup management - Capacity Management & Performance management of IBMi o Performance tuning and management of systems & storage (Disk /memory /CPU /network / storage) o Identifying and resolving capacity constraints (system tools and LPAR2RRD) - Patching & Upgrades o Quarterly OS patching and vulnerability (CVE) out of cycle patching o Operating system upgrades and planning o Identify improvements to the patching process o Perform infrastructure patching / firmware and BIOS upgrades - HMC, VIOS, Storwise (V7000, V5020, V3700) - System Monitoring o System monitoring using Nagios and IBMi tools (BigFix agent, LogRhythm) - Printing o Print server and queue configuration / management - Programming / Additional skills o PowerVM skills to manage VIOS and hardware V7000, V5020, V3700 Install, Configure, Manage and Troubleshoot o Programming skills CLP (Control Language Programming), RPG-3, ILE-RPG & COBOL - Audit o Install configure and manage compliance software including role swap management (Powertech / Syncsort EAM) o Configure MFA using Syncsort EAM o Understand and manage software license compliance o Management and update of IBMi server certificates o Continuous improvement of audit and security configurations to meet security policy o Manage audits for IBMI team submitting evidence to audit including peer review of audit materials Thanks & Regards, Padmavathi Vindeepu, Resource Specialist, Farmington Hills, MI, Phone: +1 (313) 552-5919, Email Id: [email protected] Keywords: quality analyst information technology golang Idaho Michigan |
