We have an internal system that needs to be updated due to changes to a related system. We need to understand the current process better, determine how it needs to be updated, and perform the updates. The current system is mainframe batch COBOL. 1) Proficient use of Project Management methodologies and tools 2) Experience creating and executing test scripts 3) Experience documenting and gathering requirements 4) Strong problem-solving skills 5) Strong analytical skills 6) Excellent communication skills MUST HAVE Basic IBM Mainframe COBOL and JCL Skills Experience with IBM Mainframe technologies (TSO/Roscoe, COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, SAS, Debug) They have to review the existing COBOL & JCL process, understand it, and help determine how it needs to be updated with new requirements, which well provide. Then make the necessary changes. Summary of tasks: Ability to work independently. Will be the only mainframe developer assigned. Review and document existing system functionality Work closely with business users and other IT areas Design and document how the system should be updated to meet new requirements Update the system to work in the test environment.
