Role: Atlassian Jira Admin Job Location: McLean, VA Required: Candidates Local to McLean or willing to relocate to McLean. Work Type: Onsite from Day1 - Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 Days remote) Client: Hexaware/Freddie Mac Job Description: Responsibilities: Evaluating the feasibility of all customer requests for Atlassian-related enhancements (primarily for Jira and occasionally for Confluence and Bitbucket) based on a thorough understanding of Jira screens, roles, workflows, fields, permissions, project automation, issue collector capabilities, and other typical Jira configurations. For customer requests for add-ons or plug-ins from the Atlassian marketplace, evaluating the capabilities offered and potential performance impact of installing certain add-ons to make a final recommendation suitable for enterprise use. In general, developing software solutions by studying organizational needs; conferring with users and the systems teams; studying systems flow and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle. All solutions proposed should follow established software delivery methodology and controls guidelines and ideally account for ease of implementation by the development team. Demonstrating ownership of problems, issues, or requests from start to finish and facilitating appropriate hand-offs Documenting technical design, customer agreements to solution or implementation approach, and detailed requirements in the form of user stories whenever applicable. Performing data analysis and JQL as needed to support current state or impact assessments for enhancement requests. Participating in user acceptance testing of the solutions, documenting bugs and/or test results Communicating with customers to close the loop once solutions are fully implemented in production or alternative solutions are identified that do not require system implementation for acceptance. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience; advanced studies and degree preferred A minimum of 5 years of experience engineering software solutions for business and operational capabilities Solid experience in Jira administration. Modern Tools: Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket required), preferred but optional Jfrog Artifactory, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Jenkins, SonarQube, Git Strong JQL knowledge Good communication skills. The incumbent will be responsible for interfacing and influencing with the business lines as well as others across IT.
