Job Description: API Developer The API Developer will play a key role in designing and developing APIs for United States Medicare beneficiaries. Working as part of an agile team, this position will back-end API-based services and web application development in AWS to support development and enhancement of cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, are customer-focused, team oriented, with attributes and interpersonal skills that encourages creativity and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Include: Effectively collaborate as part of an agile team in the delivery of software components to includes participation in sprint ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, scrum meetings and retrospectives. Demonstrate strong architecture and design skills building high-performance APIs using AWS services and Java. Design and implement highly scalable, interactive web applications with high usability. Collaborate with product teams to iterate ideas on data products/services and define feasibility. Rapidly iterate on product ideas, build prototypes, and participate in proof of concepts. Provide requirements analysis, software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of custom solutions. Collaborate with internal and external teams in trouble shooting functional and performance issues. Work with DevOps Engineers to integrate any new code into existing CI/CD pipelines. Document solutions and specifications in Confluence, create and complete user stories via Jira, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders via Slack. Collaborate with other teams to leverage available platforms, infrastructure as code templates, and to continuously optimize application performance. Create back-end components using Java, Maven or Gradle, Junit, Mocking Framework (e.g. Mockito), Spring Boot, Docker, Git, Jenkins, Database, and Python. Perform peer reviews of application code. Required Qualifications: BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. 5+ years Software Development experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience developing high performance APIs & Web applications. 5+ years of experience in building APIs using AWS services. Very Strong Java skills and experience require d. Experience with program languages and technologies including Java, Maven or Gradle, Junit, Mocking Framework, Docker, Jenkins, and Python. Experience with AWS Database such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB. Experience using GitHub, Jira, Confluence, TestRai l. Experience building, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications while maintaining 24/7 availability.
