Please have a look at following requirements and let me know Title : Sr. DBA Location: Nashville, TN or Chicago, IL (Initial 1-2 months remote allowed, post 2 month hybrid) Duration:6+Months RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Database Administrator will be assigned to work with one or more development project teams. In this role they will be expected to: The System Engineer will be responsible for building, supporting and managing end-to-end solutions within Amazon AWS and Azure Cloud environments. Support SCRUM teams in an Agile development environment. Working with the Solutions Designer, Development Architect and third parties as appropriate, the engineer will be responsible for ensuring that a technical design document describing the technical architecture for the program/project is produced. Understand the business and application requirements and translate into a database design. Ensure that all technology selected for the program conforms to the organizations technical long-term strategy. Be responsible for the availability, stability, recoverability and performance of the database environment by ensuring all systems are monitored, patched, and operating optimally. Design and develop complex SQL queries and appropriate database code such as stored procedures, triggers, functions to support complex business processes. Develop and deliver extensible/sustainable/quality database solutions based on defined business needs. Review and update stored procedures for optimal performance. Identify and correct performance bottlenecks related to SQL code. Recommend changes to the relational data model to solve performance issues with SQL code. Requires a solid understanding of relational database design and concepts. Monitor and troubleshoot SQL jobs using available tools such as SQL Profiler, Quest Spotlight, review logs and triage issues. Participate in the resolution of production data issues. Perform code reviews, providing feedback in a timely manner. Incorporate feedback from code reviews as appropriate. Participate in the review of all database schema projects; provide feedback and identify impacts to existing environment. Monitor business data stored in production databases, ensuring integrity of the data is maintained. Responsible for developing, maintaining and deploying SSIS packages. Participate in release of all stored procedure projects; including release documentation. Maintain knowledge as new versions of SQL Server are released and leverage new functionality as appropriate. Proactively identify and act on opportunities to improve database systems and processes. Contribute to standards documentation for database coding practices. Prioritize multiple tasks so that aggressive deadlines are met. Provide ongoing suggestions for improvement and innovation within the department. Exhibit sound, methodical engineering judgment, and effectively manage trade-offs in a business environment. Familiar with one or more of the below or other programming languages : VBScript, JavaScript, VB, Java, .NET,PERL Maintain and exhibit knowledge of AWS RDS, Azure SQL and NOSQL database Provide after-hours support as required to address system outages and perform system updates/upgrades/modifications. Identify new processes or modify existing processes to improve efficiencies in the support and monitoring of the departments production applications. Perform other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: B.S. Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred. MCSE/Azure Certification preferred. 5-8 years of experience in database development and support in MS SQL Server environment. 3+ years working experience in deploying physical and cloud instances of SQL Server. (Azure preferred) 2+ year of working with PostgreSQL. Working Knowledge of Databricks administration and Datalake, is a plus. (Azure Preferred) Working knowledge noSQL database technology. (Mongo, Cosmos, Others) 3+ years of experience in scripting language like Powershell, VB Script, Python, or similar. Strong understanding of Security guidelines in Cloud environment. Open to work on Infrastructure projects and assist on Environment buildouts from Database and Data Analytics perspective. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking & deadlocking issues, replication/log shipping issues, network/connectivity issues, security issues, etc. Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization using SQL Monitor, New Relic, and other related tools Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related hardware resource contention such as CPU, memory, disk IO, etc. Solid acquaintance with windows server, security models, and storage components such as SAN. Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server Advanced experience with TSQL language and stored procedures, transactional replication, multi node clustering, mirroring, etc. Knowledge of Data Warehousing and Column store databases. A broad understanding of enterprise-class technologies Extensive knowledge and experience with large scale client facing online systems Extensive knowledge and experience with Amazon AWS technologies Extensive knowledge and experience with Windows based technologies Ability to communicate and to interact effectively with co-workers and customers is required.
