| Position Description Position Title: Senior Power BI & Azure Data Lake Developer Location- Remote Client-Source America JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Power BI & Azure Data Lake Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, data models, data storage and Synapse solutions using Azure services. This individual will work with cross- functional teams to ensure data is collected, stored, processed, and analyzed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner Your expertise in data engineering will be instrumental in ensuring the availability, reliability, and scalability of data pipelines, enabling efficient data processing, analysis, and model training. The senior developer will be working collaboratively with the external systems integrator, IT technical team, IT business analysts, IT managers/architects and business subject matter experts to develop, configure, integrate, and document all technical components pertaining to the Azure data lake solution. Important to this role is the ability to develop solutions to address the people, process and technology needs of the organization and to understand business challenges and translate them into process/technical solutions, all while adhering to organizational values ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Analyses current business practices, processes, and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics Services. Expert level understanding on Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, and Azure App Service is required. Designing and building of data pipelines using API ingestion and Streaming ingestion methods The ability to automate tasks and deploy production standard code (with unit testing, continuous integration, versioning etc.). Utilize Power BI to build interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports. Have knowledge of database fundamentals such as multidimensional database design, relational database design, and more. Ensure application components are in compliance with the enterprise and solution architecture at SourceAmerica and apply best practices Follow change control procedures and manage the deployment from development to test to production. Collaborate with IT colleagues, business subject matter experts and outside vendors on end user issues and new application functionality. Manage user roles and permissions.Adhere to an iterative, agile implementation methodology.Adhere to organizational policies and values.Complete technical design deliverables and documentation. Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Working knowledge of Azure Automation, Azure Data Factory, and highly scalable data stores such as Azure Blob Storage, storage containers, Azure Data Lake Experience working with source code management concepts Git/GitHub including Azure SQL & Synapse Server. Experience with Power BI & Azure Data Lake capabilities and architecture. Hands on with D365 F&O and CE data model is a plus. Hands on with Azure Data factory pipelines to move the data from source systems and transform/curate the data in azure blob storage and create jobs to transform the data in Azure. Knowledge of create and deploy ARM templates by using the Azure portal is essential Knowledge of Key vault & secrets is essential. Must have knowledge on different file formats csv, xml, Json and parquet. Familiarity with and experience working with Azure cloud services. Familiar with creating dashboards and reports using Power BI The ability to envision and document a solution architecture and application designs. Must be a dynamic and self-starting individual with strong interpersonal skills who is able to work independently or in a team environment with minimal guidance and direction. Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work to meet deadlines. Must commit to continuous learning by developing new skills to keep abreast of industry trends and state of the art technology. Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical users at all levels of an organization across a variety of stakeholder groups. Must possess proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Visio). Demonstrated analytical and qualitative abilities. Bachelor's or master's degree in a technology/business/engineering/computer science related degree.
