About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Architect and Resilience Engineer for a critical engagement with one of our Fortune 500 clients. This high-stakes role demands diligent execution and offers the opportunity to deliver concrete outcomes in a complex and challenging environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS infrastructure, with a focus on ensuring system resiliency and business continuity. An acute understanding of AWS architecture and services and a proven track record in disaster recovery planning are essential. Strong scripting skills, as is experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS CloudFormation, are a must. With high levels of responsibility attached to this engagement, effective communication and collaboration skills are paramount. Responsibilities Ensure AWS Infrastructure Reliability: As an AWS Resiliency Engineer, your primary role will be to ensure that our AWS infrastructure remains reliable, available, and scalable at all times. Design for Resilience: Proactively design and implement cutting-edge solutions to prevent potential disruptions and minimize downtime. Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with application development teams to ensure their applications are designed and built with resiliency. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Create, implement, and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans specific to AWS services. Monitoring and Alerting: Develop and implement robust monitoring and alerting systems that preemptively identify issues affecting the resiliency of the infrastructure. Issue Resolution: Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of any AWS infrastructure and service issues, collaborating with other teams as necessary. Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess, evaluate, and improve the resiliency of AWS infrastructure and services, incorporating new features and technologies as appropriate. Key Skills & Experience Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS infrastructure. In-depth understanding of AWS services, their interdependencies, and architecture best practices. Proven experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning in an AWS environment. Strong scripting skills, preferably in Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages. Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, specifically AWS CloudFormation. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think on your feet. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on teamwork and customer service. A forward-thinking mindset and solid analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Demonstrated expertise in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing client engagements effectively.
