Position: Systems Architect, No H1B Location: Remote, Madison, WI (Only Candidates local to WI) Duration: 9+ Month MOI: Phone and Video The Systems Architect (SA) is responsible for ensuring that the overall system, including applications, databases, and infrastructure, meets technical, business, and security requirements for both current and future needs. This role involves considering evolving business, functional, and technical requirements from various stakeholders and business units. The SA evaluates complex architectures, including commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom software, local and cloud hosting, and data integration. Key responsibilities include: Advising technical decision-makers. Designing and evaluating system architecture in collaboration with technical and businessteams. Assessing solutions with regard to available resources and business constraints. Coordinating between various technical areas (security, middleware, application development, data management) to ensure system components align coherently. Ensuring consistency of technical decisions across multiple projects. Conducting external research to evaluate systems and architectures. Performing cost-benefit analysis of architectural decisions, including cloud hosting options. Adapting system design as new components are added or requirements change.
