Role: MAINFRAME AND SAS PROGRAMMER

Work Location:

Sacramento, CA = 1 day per week. (Hybrid) 

Interview Process: 2-3 rounds via video. Detailed technical interviews. 

Client: UHG/OPTUM

Manager has a need for two roles - SAS Programmer and Mainframe Programmer.  

Manager has to go to the state to explain why the candidates are fit based on the requirements so make sure to touch on each in your submittal. 

Start 11/1 but interviews and selection process now.  Can send resumes direct and interviews ASAP 

1 day a week onsite on Wednesday.  relo ok if they will work onsite on Wednesdays 

Can search in the Bay area, Reno, Sacramento 

Project- Data Feeds team works on the state team - they used Cobol Mainframe and Sas to extract data out of legacy data systems and send Optus data managers
who used ETL tool to load into data warehouse 

These are data programming roles that Create a transaction set, Write code to pull data from the state, Monitor processes to make sure things run and if not
fix it 

The work location requirement by the customer is that the person must be in a Sacramento,
CA office every Wednesday.

PROJECT: 

The position is for a Media-Cal Data Warehouse project for State of California
in Sacramento. The Data Feeds Specialist will be responsible to develop and maintain the data feed process from various data sources and transmit data in preparation for loading into the MIS/DSS data warehouse 

Team:   

Data Feeds Team will have 6 Data Feeds Specialists and 1 Data Feeds Specialist Lead.
They all report to the client directly. 

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the data feed process from various data sources and transmit data in preparation for loading into the MIS/DSS data warehouse 

Analyze DHCS warehouse requirements and research existing claim and eligible processes to develop the data feed process 

Utilize statistical tools such as SAS EG to create reports and trends from the MIS/DSS and support user requests 

Experience using Informatics to help support TMSIS and PERM reporting 

TOP REQUIREMENTS:

Five (5) years experience with front-end data warehouse or similar processing which
includes extracting data for large files from various sources, cleansing data, and preparing the data for loading into a data warehouse. 

Required:

5 years experience with front-end data warehouse or similar processing which includes
extracting data for large files from various sources, cleansing data, and preparing the data for loading into a data warehouse.

5 years experience as an analyst-programmer performing various system development
life cycle functions including; project planning, requirements analysis, program specifications, coding, testing, and implementation.

Experience with paid and denied claims (diagnosis codes, procedure codes, etc.)
and data standards (Protected Health Information, privacy standards, HIPAA data elements, and code sets.) Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite of tools and VISIO in facilitating written communication such as developing status reports, creating/updating
technical and procedure documentation, and communication with team members, end users and stakeholders. Experience in oral communication in a variety of situations such as interacting with the user community (e.g. State staff, vendors, and Data Center staff),
making presentations, facilitating meetings and walkthroughs, and user training. Experience transitioning program changes into production.

Experience with Medicaid, SSA, or other welfare programs specific to state and
federal policies and procedures

Preferred:

2 years experience working with Business Objects.

5 years-experience working in a mainframe environment (with working knowledge of
COBOL, VSAM file structures, JCL and TSO)

Intermediate level experience with developing program specifications, pseudo code,
or logic diagrams
