There will be travel in position. They will travel 1-3 times a year and the travel period is usually 2-3 weeks long. They want someone that is willing to commute to the CP location down by the border. Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 7am - 4pm or 8am - 5pm ABOUT THE ROLE: Seniority Level/Target years of experience: 3-5 years of experience Soft skills: team player strong communication can communicate and work directly with clients Top 3-5 Technical Skills: Siemens platforms (TIA and Steps 7) Allen Bradley experience as a programmer Project Scope/Details/Responsibilities: Programming Ability: Siemens; expect them to be familiar with the code, be able to write code from scratch and gather logic and understand how to do scripting Bachelors degree is required for this position They will be assigned projects and throughout the year they might have 1- 3 projects and then they will go out into the field to the client site for 2-3 weeks. all programming is done in house (at the office or remote) the first 6 months they will be required to be onsite at CP 5 days a week and then depending on experience and how they are progressing, they can go remote. but they do prefer candidates that are willing to commute to CP. They are not looking for an expert, they understand there will be some learning curves but that is why the degree is required because they should have the background and knowledge to grow with CP. Job Description: Work with the engineering group and the operations group to develop and implement automation solutions (system integration) Support the electrical department to red-line or improve electrical diagrams Be able to support installations crew and troubleshooting problem over the phone when necessary. Provide internal and external technical support and system upgrades Domestical and International travel to job sites, training facilities and customer locations will be required (up to 20%-30%) Job duties are often performed in confined areas and in awkward positions. Some positions may require the use of personal protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, etc. Qualification: Experience with RSLogix 5000 Experience with Siemens Step 7 classic Experience with TIA portal Experience programming new and also working with existing Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs Firsthand experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting is necessary Experience with VFDs.
