From: Ammy, Resource logistics [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] The Lead UI designer will be a key voice in solving complex workflows and user interactions with critical thinking, excellent product instincts, and deep technical knowledge. This role will lead the design and development of user interfaces while utilizing a solid grasp of design best practices; and a passion for designing functional and enjoyable user interfaces through all visual stages, from concept to final hand-off to engineering. Lead a team of designers in the development and implementation of quality user interfaces for ongoing projects and products, mentoring and guiding junior designers in the execution of design elements, ensuring alignment with best-in-class principles and standards. Maintain ownership of the product vision by providing creative solutions for end-to-end user experiences, facilitating cross-functional team collaboration, driving execution of deliverables, and ensuring product design is in line with company standards. Mentor, guide, and partner with designers in achieving the optimal balance of functionality, usability, and quality for the product. Provide feedback and creative solutions to problems while working alongside leadership to ensure a high level of quality across all product features. Collaborate with business stakeholders, including business development, product management, engineering, and other designers to define and implement innovative UI solutions for digital products. Partner with marketing partners to ensure UI components and elements are aligned to evolving brand guidelines. Drive solutions for complex design problems, designing intuitive interfaces that facilitate ease of use and accessibility for end-users. Ensure designs adhere to brand standards, conform to client standards, identify and resolve usability and accessibility issues, and are in accordance with design best practices for user interactions. Present and articulate design decisions to executive-level stakeholders and peers, while tending to a backlog of design requests from product teams. Onboard new designers to the team in order to get them up to speed and assist in training on company-wide design standards. Assist UX Researchers in conducting product evaluations and collecting user feedback for incorporation into design iteration. Maintain and contribute to Quests comprehensive design system with consistent components and visual design language, establishing design guidelines, best practices, and standards across multiple content types. Imagine elegant and thoughtful ways to present data, developing UI standards across all digital channels utilizing user and task analysis and design-thinking methodologies. Prioritize and analyze user research and data-driven insights to inform design decisions. Partner with the development team to ensure creative styles are within technical constraints. Construct quick interactive prototypes that provide a realistic feel of the intended experience, incorporating functionality with effects, animations, and transitions as appropriate. Apply an appreciation for determining the right control for the right task use of modals, menus, forms, etc., to allow for intuitive user interactions across all projects and products. Required Work Experience: 8-10 years of experience in the design of digital product experiences using dedicated design tools and digital design processes. Proficient knowledge of working with UX architects to define problems and goals, map user flows, and prototype interaction. Then using the findings to develop final pixel-perfect deliverables for implementation in digital products by development teams. Preferred Work Experience: Experience working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology is preferred. Experience designing for WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), including understanding hierarchy, keyboard focus, color contrast standards, etc. Experience applying user research insights to inform UI designs, including wireframes and high-fidelity prototype modals. Ability to apply and communicate solid rationale as part of the creative process and always execute to the highest standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a design team and understand the impact of design decisions across a system Ability to translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity despite system complexity Ability to give data meaning through information visualization Passion for researching and sourcing valuable, relevant information, inclusive of trends and mood boards Knowledge: Expert knowledge of user-centered design theory, with emphasis on employing a range of visual and interactive design techniques to build low and high-fidelity prototypes for use in gathering user feedback. Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including the ability to explain design decisions when necessary. Strong organization and documentation skills to catalog design elements into a company-wide design system, streamlining methodologies to ensure consistent design language across all digital channels. Proficient knowledge of interactivity, channels, and systematic design principles across responsive design, native mobile design, and other mediums. Knowledge and understanding of principles of Atomic Design, including modularity, nesting, and media independence (a strong plus). Skillful in time management and prioritization. Excellent presentation skills and the ability to articulate responses. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Skilled in creating user interfaces, utilizing established design principles and visual trends to create layouts that are responsive and aesthetically appealing. Expert knowledge in two or more areas of UI Design, including but not limited to user interface, interaction design, visual design, IA, and web design. Proven ability to share expertise with internal and cross-functional teams, collaborating across the organization. Expert knowledge in typography, color, depth of field, layout, and design as a concept based on principles of visual hierarchy, color theory, and composition. Recognize and lead a team through roadblocks using visual thinking techniques to assess and develop user-centered products, establishing a high bar for best-in-class design. Strong proficiency with dynamic interaction, motion design, and transitions, as well as user interaction. Bring a design voice to the conversation and build trust between the design team and other disciplines, facilitating cross-discipline meetings. Expert in proposing solutions and compromises that balance business goals, technology, and user experience across a variety of platforms. Working knowledge of design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, InVision, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch/Studio, Zepllin, Flinto, etc. Strong understanding of HTML and CSS capabilities as it relates to design.
