Job title: Server Infrastructure Engineer Location: Remote ( one day a week on-site in San Diego, CA) Visa: No H1B, CPT Interview: Phone/ Skype Job Description: Server Infrastructure Engineer for global data center operations reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager and will provide ongoing support of all systems including internal and external environments involving client support, server support, and user management. This candidate will possess depth and understanding of Cloud and virtualization computing technologies. This is a senior engineering position with little to no desktop or end user workstation support. Primary Responsibilities Azure, AWS, and VMware virtual infrastructure creation and administration. Setup, deploy, and perform system administration on Windows servers. Setup, deploy, and perform system administration on Linux servers based on experience Setup, deploy, and perform security administration based on experience Setup, deploy, and perform network administration based on experience Configure and maintain Windows Group Policies. Administer user accounts on Active Directory. Backup and recovery administration. Virus scanner administration on servers. Patch management administration on servers. Update technical documentation. Assist with maintaining warranty status on all hardware. Assist with software licensing and keep licensing status current. Responsible for the help desk, incident response, and change management systems for internal Tier 2 and above customers. Interface with customers to help facilitate client issues. Maintain and support the training environment. Evaluate new technologies and recommend future direction. Assists in establishing requirements, methods, and procedures. Occasionally work with vendors to implement 3rd party solutions. Requirements Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience. 4+ years of relevant IT experience. Must have operations experience in a 24x7 environment. Azure Cloud experience preferred. Experience with VMware. Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills. Ability to work effectively with a team of IT professionals within a global organization structure. Must possess excellent written and verbal skills. Must be proactive, able to work with little or no supervision, detail oriented and possess a strong work ethic.
