Title : Pure Storage Resident Engineer Location : Detroit, MI (Hybrid) , Locals only Duration : 6 months Visa : USC/GC Holder Job Description Pure Storage Resident in the Detroit Metro area The ideal candidate for this role will be a Pure Storage SME proficient with Flash Array and ActiveCluster. opening for a Pure Storage Resident Engineer who is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all activities related to deployment, maintenance, performance analysis & debugging issues with Pure Storage software & hardware. This role is for subject matter experts with strong background in Pure storage and a history of hands-on storage management in an enterprise / fortune sized company. This role aligns with one of the worlds leading companies in the transportation field as well as working hand in hand to deliver alongside Pure Storage professional services. As the dedicated Resident Engineer, you will provide the highest level of technical support and services to our top enterprise customers who purchase premium contracts. Responsibilities Expert Knowledge of the Pure Storage product family (to include Pure Storage FlashArray and Pure Storage FlashBlade) Deliver a polished, high-touch level of technical product support for Pure Storage FlashArray and/or Pure Storage FlashBlade to a portfolio of high profile and high impact customers. Drive/assist in technical customer escalations and case resolution Create and present technical knowledge transfers on Pure Storage components. Be available to travel to a customer site within a 12-24 hour notification response time frame Work alongside Services Account Managers and Sales Teams to ensure customer technical satisfaction with Pure Storage FlashArray and/or Pure Storage FlashBlade. Partner with Enterprise customers to maximize their investments with Pure Storage products and increase product consumption and satisfaction. Provide technical assistance with onsite and remote product upgrades. Provide expert support during outages and conduct in-depth troubleshooting for operational issues. Respond rapidly to unplanned events, including afterhours for Severity 1 issues. Proactively Communicate professionally and effectively at all organizational levels externally with the customer and internally within Pure Storage. On occasion, travel for customer site visits and/or departmental meetings. Annual travel expected to be less than 10% but may vary depending on the customer. Qualifications: 7+ years of enterprise Storage engineering with at least 4+ years of hands-on experience in managing Pure Storage FlashArray and/or Pure Storage FlashBlade, configuring hardware, performing provisioning tasks, and facilitating smooth data migrations. Minimum of 4 years overall customer facing experience Comprehensive understanding and practical experience with the Pure Storage Product Portfolio, particularly from an operations perspective Proficiency in utilizing the Pure GUI (Graphical User Interface), CLI (Command Line Interface), and Rest API (Application Programming Interface) for effective management and configuration. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate efficient information exchange with team members, systems administrators, Pure Storage management, and customers. Expertise in providing technical solutions for supporting data migrations, ensuring smooth and seamless transitions. Assisting with VMware VM migrations to Pure Storage, requiring familiarity with VMware vSphere and SRM. Knowledge and experience in networking and Fiber Channel technologies, with a preference for expertise in Brocade and Cisco. Willingness to work outside of regular hours during planned change windows. A strongly self-motivated person with the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision is a must. Due to frequent customer meetings, technical TOIs, technical and political escalations, etc., exceptional verbal and written communications skills and being well organized are required. Exceptional presentation and a proactive customer service mentality is a must.
