Responsibilities : Support the z/OS Mainframe with a focus on management of storage Qualifications : TSO/ISPF, zOS, managing storage devices Exp : 10 years Job description: Mainframe Storage Engineer, Sr. The Senior Mainframe Storage Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, management, configuration, implementation, performance tuning, backup/recovery, data replication, and disaster recovery methodologies of a fast-growing, complex storage environment. Need : An experienced person who has knowledge and experience of managing the data stored on disk and tape for our mainframe system systems and supports the products that are used to manage and manipulate data including DFSMS, FDR, DSS, ACC, SRS, IDCAMS, and the IBM data utilities. Also provide support for data backup, replication and recovery for disaster and Cyber recovery and high availability. Provide technical leadership to peers and business colleagues performing the same. On-call and tier 1 support to operational and business communities is a critical part of this role. In this role, you will: Plans and implements new technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprise-wide IT mainframe projects. Designs, develops, implements, and updates mainframe operating system programming and applications to support and meet business needs. Identifies, recommends, and provides different approaches & solutions for performance issues improvement. Provides expert level technical support and ensures reliable operation of production. Diagnoses and troubleshoots the most complex issues for hardware or software systems on multiple mainframes. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure mainframes and shares this knowledge with the business and key stakeholders. Develops complex technical standards. Tests and evaluates technologies vendor products. Recommends vendor selections and new technologies. Learns and understands business functions and requirements. Determines the appropriate technical tool to address business needs. Trains and mentors more junior staff on processes and technologies. Troubleshoots and resolves the most complex issues elevated from staff. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department. Administers system activities. Identifies and recommends mainframe batch and online processing uses and benefits. What it takes: Bachelors degree in computer science and/or must have 10+ years of experience maintaining mainframe infrastructure Technical Specifications that make an impact.
