Position: Tenable Security Engineer Location: Dallas, St. Louis, Middletown NJ, Seattle. As of right now, can still work remote but that might change so ideally focusing on these locations. Duration: 6+ Months Mode of interview: Phone and Video Job Description: ***This is NOT a scanning position. They will not be doing any scanning work. More Tier 2 / Tier 3 work. S uccessful candidate will be responsible for the Tenable platform maintenance (tier 2) administration, troubleshooting, and support of a network vulnerability scanning solution covering the Corporate Tenable platform global network. Responsibilities include system administration of Linux (ubuntu & Redhat servers), network troubleshooting, and executing network vulnerability scan failure that are brought to the tier 2 team. Linux System maintenance and administration (Ubuntu & Redhat) Creating users, creating groups, leveraging keys, deploy apps on/in Linux, SSH, Memory Usage, Monitor Health of System (system health checks), group assignment. Expert level knowledge of TCP/UDP protocols/services is required, including analysis of network packet captures using Wireshark and TCP-DUMP. Expert understanding and knowledge of the Tenable.io & Tenable SC platforms and network vulnerability scanning a must. WILL NOT be doing the remediation or scanning yourself, the scanning team will come to you for help to investigate and find the root cause of why the scanner is failing or false negatives or positives.
