From: Jyoti, kpg99 [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Senior Splunk Developer Client - Charter Communications USC/GC Location - Onsite in St Louis [ Relocation will work ] JOB SUMMARY We have an opening for a Senior Splunk Developer within our Buyflow Services Operations team to develop Splunk dashboard and alerts for cutting edge eCommerce environments. Teams within Buyflow Services support applications used by a wide variety of sales channels processing thousands of transactions per hour, generating nearly half of all sales revenue for our fortune 100 company! As a leader and technical expert on the team responsible for instrumenting some of our most critical systems, the ideal candidate must be detail oriented, possess strong business acumen, be proactive, possess an assertive personality, and have strong communication skills, and be driven to succeed. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop complex queries using Splunk Query Language for use in advanced dashboard and alerts Perform data transformation using Splunk Query Language Develop advanced data visualization dashboards leveraging Splunk dashboard apps and custom dashboard apps Troubleshoot Splunk forwarder issues, escalate the issue and work with Splunk support team to resolve issues Build and integrate contextual data into notable events Perform routine health checks, maintenance tasks, update, upgrade, and implement new capabilities Recognizing and on-boarding new data sources into Splunk, analyzing the data for anomalies and trends, and building dashboards highlighting the key trends of the data Develop and provide reports on the usage of information and data Experience in SQL query development leveraging HTML, XML, CSS, Bash, Java, and Python scripts Must be able to develop adhoc queries on the fly to pinpoint application issues Needs to be able to articulate search parameters and commands Implements integration with external systems Please note: Simple usage of prewritten queries and dashboards is not sufficient. This is not Splunk administration like rolling out agents or administering Splunk. PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 5+ years in a DevOps, system administrator or equivalent position in a large IT organization. 3+ years proven experience with Splunk Enterprise Splunk Certified Developer a plus Experience implementing Splunk dashboards and alerts Familiarity with field extraction in Splunk using regular expressions Proven experience developing prototype visualization tools to include requirements definition and execution. Expertise in Datadog would be a huge plus. 1-3 years in an eCommerce environment selling service-based solutions is a plus. Expertise in AWS, Java, Spring Boot, Containers like Docker and Kubernetes (PaaS / CaaS) a plus. Working experience in Linux/Unix Server Administration. Network experience and certifications are a plus. Operating in an Agile, Scrum, or SAFe development model. Skilled in identifying design and implementation details within documentation / communication to understand expected behavior. A strong, team oriented spirit and a positive, exuberant personality focused on learning and overcoming obstacles " Have experience on Log monitoring, troubleshooting Very good understanding of SPL language with ability to write complex query for dashboard, report and alerts based on standard deviation. Have experience on tools like appDynamics, datadog Have hands on experience in Java service environments Have experience on Linux VM and cloud platforms Have experience on deployment/release planning Have experience on Incident management" Description Development operations (DevOps) engineers are responsible for the production and ongoing maintenance of a website platform. They also manage cloud infrastructure and system administration and work with teams to identify and repair issues on an as-needed basis, so strong communication skills are important in this position. They are generally expected to work well under pressure with tight deadlines for certain tasks, and a proactive demeanor and friendly disposition are also helpful. DevOps engineers may work with junior and senior engineers, project managers, and executives, as well as administrative assistants, executive assistants, and a receptionist. Hours can be flexible, though they typically work during regular weekly business hours, and they are not usually responsible for customer/client interaction or supervising junior employees. 5- 10 years of experience.
