From: Charan, Anveta [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Role: GTRI Project Portfolio Manager (721810) Location: Atlanta, GA 30318---- Either Web Cam or In Person---- Remote Duration: Long term Client: State of Georgia US Citizen only. 100% Remote (East Coast residency strongly preferred) The Information Technology (IT) Project Portfolio Manager within Enterprise Systems Department (ESD) at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is responsible for supporting the organizational and IT leadership in overseeing, managing, and reporting on operational and strategic initiative projects to achieve the organization's goals and objectives. This individual will act as the primary resource for Enterprise Systems Department leadership for communications, and for reporting the state and performance of all projects within the portfolio. The individual will collaborate closely with the Project Managers, Business Analysts, ESD Director, and other GTRI departmental leadership teams to ensure that projects selection methodologies, standardized tools, and processes are utilized to prioritize and select projects for execution. As an IT Project Portfolio Manager, you will facilitate a cross-functional team to collect, organize, document, and communicate project related information such as scope, requirements, resources required and their necessary skills to work on the project. Some of your primary tasks will be to conduct project planning, execution, and control of selected projects on the JIRA portfolio platform. You will also organize information and all documentations in both Jira and Confluence platforms. You will ensure that the leadership team has all necessary information to guide and enable them on making decisions to approve the projects for successful execution. Job Requirements: Gatekeeper for the overall project portfolio-level intake process Develops ongoing project pipeline from customer requests Work with the Team Leads and Project Managers to plan and manage resource capacity and utilization. Monitors the health of all portfolio initiatives, interdependencies, risks, and issues. Provides reporting mechanisms and standards for all projects in the portfolio, ensuring transparency for stakeholders and leadership. Facilitates a regular cadence of portfolio reviews with the management that drives the effective delivery of projects and supports continual learning and improvement for the organization operational units and research laboratories. Maintains a customer first mindset in all elements of the portfolio intake process. Maintain a knowledgebase of internal and external customer practices related to the project and portfolio management practices, resource capacity planning leveraging supported enterprise-wide tools and processes that enable standard portfolio performance reporting. Develop, deploy, operate, and continuously improve the project portfolio management process with a customer focused and fit for purpose mindset Develop, deploy, and maintain supporting portfolio management tools (e.g., project intake form, business case form, prioritization matrices, portfolio KPIs, portfolio dashboard, etc.) Act as a liaison between the project teams (project managers, project leaders, project sponsors) and other departmental leadership. Communicate with ESD Director as necessary to discuss and resolve resources required to deliver the projects. Experience with Various project management Frameworks and Processes, Such as Agile Education and other requirements: A Bachelors degree is required: Preferred degree in Business, Accounting, or IT-related field. Strong experience with Microsoft Project Management software 5+ years of senior IT project management experience preferably with large technology implementation projects. 5+ years of experience with Agile project delivery methodology 5+ years portfolio-level project intake governance Excellent oral and written communications Interpersonal, negotiation, planning, judgement, leadership, decision-making, analysis and problem- solving skills Certifications preferred; PMP, SAFe program consultant, Certified Scrum Master.
