Job Title: Azure Engineer ( Lift & Shift , SQL ) Location: Remote Contract : C2C Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Azure Engineer with experience in Lift & Shift migration strategies and expertise in SQL database management. As an Azure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Azure cloud solutions, specifically focusing on migrating on-premises applications and databases to the Azure platform. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of migration projects and the ongoing optimization of Azure resources. Key Responsibilities: Lift & Shift Migration: Plan, execute, and oversee the migration of on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to the Azure cloud using Lift & Shift strategies. SQL Database Management: Manage Azure SQL databases, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting. Azure Resource Deployment: Deploy and configure Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, and other infrastructure as needed to support migration and application requirements. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Azure Resource Manager templates, Terraform) to automate the provisioning and management of Azure resources. Security and Compliance: Ensure Azure solutions and migrated workloads adhere to security best practices, compliance requirements, and data governance policies. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize Azure resources to improve performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and ensure smooth migration and operations. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of Azure configurations, migration processes, and best practices. Incident Response: Respond to and resolve Azure-related incidents and issues promptly, implementing preventive measures to avoid recurring problems. Training and Knowledge Sharing: Stay up-to-date with Azure technologies and share knowledge with the team through training sessions and documentation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience in Lift & Shift migration strategies for on-premises applications and databases to Azure. Strong expertise in Azure services, including virtual machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Security. Proficiency in SQL database management and administration. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager templates or Terraform. Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD pipelines for automation. Knowledge of security best practices, compliance standards, and data protection in Azure. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
