Please find the below job description and if you are interested, please forward your resume to [email protected] Role: Data Center Engineer Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (Onsite) Duration: Long Term Must have skills: Experience in setting up servers/storage/Wi-Fi. Experience in networking, firewall setup/Router configuration a plus. Qualifications Bachelors degree in engineering. Rebooting routers, servers, storage devices or other equipment. Experience working in a modern, large-scale data center. Attention to detail and cleanliness. Ability to identify basic parts of network equipment SFPs, line cards, chassis. Ability to identify basic parts of servers memory, network card, hard drives. Knowledge of structured cabling systems using cat 5, cat 6, multi-mode and single-mode Fiber. Familiarity with both power and communications cabling standards. Experience configuring and using cable testers for both Fiber and copper to troubleshoot cabling issues. Extensive knowledge in computer networking, troubleshooting and analytical skills in a fast-paced and continually evolving environment. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining various hardware, software platforms, and hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience. Adept at identifying and solving problems at various levels of internetworked computer systems. Sound technical knowledge of current network hardware, network management concepts, LAN and WAN networking, Windows and Linux Operating Systems, Virtualization. Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Responsibilities. You will be in charge of maintaining our co-locations and on-site data center. Installing and cabling switches, servers, and appliances in our onsite data center. Prepare hardware equipment for remote site deployments. Replacing hard drives/memory/transceivers and other hardware related tasks as required by our server and network teams. Getting equipment to and from remote co-locations including packing. Facilitating installation of servers and network equipment with smart hands in remote co-locations. Managing power and space including monitoring and capacity planning. Maintaining a consistent and clean cable management philosophy. Managing equipment inventory. Maintaining data center documentation. Responsible for maintaining detailed documentation of all deployed IT assets using an internal database. Co-ordinate with technicians in our remote sites to troubleshoot network related issues. Propose and implement methods of general site improvement. Install, upgrade, configure and maintain network equipment, servers and Operating Systems.
