Job Title: SAP BASIS Architect Work Location: Houston, TX Hybrid (4 Days Onsite) Duration: 6+ Months Summary The Sr. SAP BASIS Architect is a hands-on role that will provide SAP Architecture and BASIS thought and technical design leadership and direction as a part of the newly established SAP Center of Excellence (COE). This position will lead the BASIS architecture, design and operations of a new SAP S/4HANA Hybrid Environment. The Sr. SAP BASIS Architect works with the AMS (Application Managed Services) and IMS (Infrastructure Managed Services) Partners to ensure that the SAP Systems operate optimally and efficiently. This position will support an SAP Hybrid on-prem and cloud landscape of S/4, BW/4, ME/MII, CPQ and ARIBA. The person in this position will proactively work with other groups in the organization such as Security, Development and PMO to understand and plan for System outages, maintenance, upgrades and other support activities. They will also lead a team of SAP subject matter experts as part of the SAP COE in Supply Chain Architecture, BASIS, S4 Development and Security as well as AMS Basis consultants. Responsibilities Accountable for all SAP BASIS functions in the hybrid SAP landscape. Review change requests and coordinate system outage windows. Provide SAP BASIS and Architecture leadership and support including analysis, tracking, and problem resolution. Research production problems such as performance issues. Apply expert knowledge and experience to resolve problems. Oversee BASIS technical direction across multiple projects and systems. Good knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying OSS notes. Develop Roadmaps for upgrades. Collaborate and provide excellent customer service to end users by working closely with the Architecture, Functional, Development, BASIS, and Security teams and project teams, to deliver high quality solutions on time. Ability to work periodic evenings and weekends for production support and implementations as needed. Use extensive IT knowledge at domain level and support change management and business adoption of technologies. Present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner in single or group environments through various formats to mentor the Technology team. Good understanding of the Business Requirements and ability to translate them to Solution Implementation and Deliverables, along with estimates for delivery. Other duties as assigned. Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures. Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines. Supervisory Responsibilities Will be leading a small team within the larger newly established SAP Center of Excellence (COE). Directly supervises one or more employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree with 10+ plus years of experience in the field or in a related area or possess an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience with SAP ERP implementation projects of moderate to high complexity, SAP S/4 Hana a plus. 8 + years of BASIS Support functions including Upgrades and dual development landscapes. At least 5 years combined experience in SAP environments in S/4 HANA, Fiori, ECC, and SAP Solution Manager. Experience supporting secure communication such as SSL, SAML, and SNC between systems. Experience with Databases such as HANA or Oracle. Experience with dual stack (ABAP/JAVA) systems. Experience with SAP applications in Public clouds. Experience with Change Management (CHARM), Focused Build. Experience with integration technologies platforms such as BTP, CPI, CPS, Boomi, and BODS Experience with Basis functionality in areas of performance monitoring, tuning and systems configurations, researching, designing and implementation of solutions, and Planning and executing of SAP Support and upgrade projects. Experience with managing Service Partners in the delivery of technical solutions in SAP environments. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS* Demonstrated competencies in SAP are required through certifications for business or technical specializations.
