Duration: 3 months+ with possible extension Interview: Webcam Interview Only Rate: $55-60/hr W2 with no benefits all inclusive Job Description: Must have clear and proficient written and verbal communication skills. We have need of senior Linux System Administration support, with skills in the following areas RedHat/CentOS & Ubuntu system administration Major and minor OS upgrade Scripting languages, including bash and Python Ansible automation Git repository management VMware/deployment methods Physical server maintenance, include iDRAC Implementing system security best practices Authentication protocols/methods including KRB, SSSD, A/D, LDAP Proficient written and verbal communication On specified RedHat/CentOS and Ubuntu servers and desktops: plan, execute document and share methods Contractor Tasks i. Individual Systems Update (100+ Systems) 1. Security a. Uninstall FireEye HX agent b. Install/configure M.S. Defender c. Review/implement 3rd party recommendations 2. Scheduled jobs analysis 3. Validate/analyze boot files (inittab, systemd, rc.x) 4. Compare /home to passwd file 5. Review/convert chronyd configurations ii. Migrate Ubuntu Desktops to current version (10 Systems) iii. Upgrade/migrate Linux servers to latest OS (10 Systems) iv. Ansible bash-to-yaml conversion v. Review/Improve logging (syslog-ng) vi. Review A/D integration (Kerberos with SSSD; LDAPS; OUs) vii.
