MUST HAVE: IT Distributed Desktop Engineer (On-Site) Job Description: We currently have an opportunity for an IT Distributed Desktop Engineer to join our Corporate IT team in our Plymouth MN office. This job is responsible for maintaining the Windows PC environment, and for managing and deploying system updates and software; testing, configuring, and building deployable equipment; data encryption and providing technical Tier II support on problems varying in complexity. Provides consultation to users and IT application owners on end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software in this Windows environment, while supporting a small Apple user-base. Requirements: Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including current Windows and/or Apple Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and other applicable applications and programs. Advanced knowledge and understanding of various Microsoft and/or Apple hardware and software products, operating systems, and related utilities for the client environment. Ability to research and diagnose complex problems independently and determine root causes. Outstanding customer support, teamwork and communication skills are essential. Takes initiative on a regular basis, seeking to avoid problems proactively, rather than resolving after the fact. Promotes and actively shares knowledge through good communications, peer training, and written documentation. Focused on quality and committed to continual improvement. Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree required. Microsoft certifications desirable. 3-5 years of experience in a Desktop Engineering role including; Windows and/or Apple OS installation, image creation/build, troubleshooting and application packaging. 1+ years SCCM, PowerShell and VMWare experience required.
