| From: Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Tek Inspirations LLC [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Mainframe Programmer BNY 12 month contract to hire No Visa Restrictions Pittsburgh, PA Mainframe Developer Roles & Responsibilities: Will be supporting the Mainframe transformation initiative for critical enterprise applications Reviews, analyzes and participate in the solutioning Closely works with Vendor and technical team to provide answers to application related questions Works with project members to develop specifications, diagrams and flowcharts Support the testing initiatives Coach technical staff regarding new software development and tools Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager The candidate will interact with vendors, business, PMO, other project teams and operations team for the transformation initiative Mainframe Skills & Qualifications: In depth knowledge of IBM Mainframe z/OS environment with current hands on development, coding experience Must have worked on Mainframe Transformation initiatives involving re-platforming or re-factoring of the code Working knowledge of tools used in transformation initiatives such as mainframe code analyser, migration tools, testing tools Prior experience in tools such as innoWake, Blue Age, MicroFocus Enterprise Analyzer, mLogica LIBER M or IBM IDZ / ADDI is plus Must have good communication skills, interaction with business and Vendor teams and effectively represent the technical team in project calls Strong knowledge of programming languages OS/VS COBOL, COBOL II and COBOL 6.2 Experience with various file systems VSAM/FLAT/GDG Good understanding of JCL/TSO/ISPF and job scheduling (Control-M a plus) Understanding of DB2 (Oracle is a plus) Experience with RPG II is a big plus Strong in CICS with knowledge of BMS map editing, CICS tables and transactions Ability to use various third party tools like INSYNC, SyncSort for data extraction, manipulation and load of VSAM Hands on experience with Endevor (Understanding of GIT is a plus) Familiarity with ETL, file transmissions mechanisms, NDM is a plus Must be a self-starter and able to research, identify a problem and solution Experience with large financial applications integrated in a distributed setup with various modern technologies Minimally 3-5 years of recent relevant work experience required Keywords: zos Pennsylvania |
