Role - Cloud Data Base Architect

Location Remote

Duration:- Contract

Buying Rate - $65/hr on C2C Or $60/hr on w2

POSITION GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS

Work with software and hardware vendors regarding problem resolution and new products and services.

Develop processes and procedures for data management across the organization.

Design computer programs that accomplish tasks necessary for data storage and management

Analyze current data warehousing processes for optimization or realize a different end target platform.

Test software systems or applications for software enhancements or new products.

Review designs, code, test plans, and documentation to ensure quality.

Provide or coordinate troubleshooting support for data warehouses.

Prepare functional or technical documentation for data warehouses.

Verify the structure, accuracy, and quality of warehouse data.

Select methods, techniques, and criteria for evaluating data warehousing procedures.

Map data between source systems, data warehouses, and data marts.

Implement business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies.

Develop and implement data extraction procedures from other systems.

Develop or maintain standards, such as organization, structure, or nomenclature, for the design of data warehouse elements, such as data architectures, models, tools, and databases.

Design and implement warehouse database structures.

Create supporting documentation, such as metadata and diagrams of entity relationships, business processes, and process flow.

Create plans, test files, and scripts for data warehouse testing.

Create or implement metadata processes and frameworks.

Design and develop data warehouse architectures, process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction.

With only general direction and guidance, conduct special assignments of a highly complex and technical nature and develop alternative strategies which have an important effect on planning or meeting objectives.

Provide breadth and depth technical advice and serve as a technical training resource to management and staff.

Plan and coordinate the day-to-day activities of a group of engineers or programmers which have the responsibility for a major technical area/system.

Gather business requirements, determine appropriate solutions and effectively communicate those to partners.

Act as project lead for major projects requiring the use of project management and interpersonal skills to coordinate project interdependencies.

Apply knowledge base technical expertise in decision making and in the resolution of problems which are highly complex and technical in nature.

Collaborate with team to promote automation and development of consistent technical builds, implementations, and support processes.

Utilize standard enterprise tools to develop or implement virtualized hardware, software, and other technical components.

Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolve problems to ensure infrastructure and application stability.

Observe and comply with company change, incident, and problem management procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Experience:

5+ years relevant work experience specializing in data warehouse technologies

Prior experience administering databases in a large enterprise environment

3+ years relevant work experience supporting databases hosted in Amazon Web Services

Knowledge:

Deep knowledge of Cloud based data warehouse technologies

Thorough knowledge of the AWS hosting environment

Prior experience using Databricks and Snowflake

Working knowledge of Unix and Windows based operating systems

Must have strong data modeling and database design skills

Skills/Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams

Ability to quickly learn new systems, concepts, and procedures

Ability to manage competing priorities

Demonstrate basic analytical and conceptual skills used to define technical needs and solve technical problems

Must be available to work off hours or shifts as required for 24/7/365 support

Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

Ability to work remotely
