ARC Group has an immediate opportunity for a remote SQL DBA II who has working experience installing, configuring, and maintaining with SQL Server 2019/2016 (2022 is a plus), maintaining in-memory tables, column store indexes, scripting languages (PowerShell) for automating DBA administrative tasks and some work with DevOps.

The SQL DBA II is starting out as a contract position with a strong potential to extend or convert to FTE. This position is 100% remote working eastern time zone core business hours. On-call support is required once every 8 weeks as primary and secondary. They are secondary on the 7th week and then the 8th week would be primary.

SQL DBA II Requirements
5 or more years professional experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator.
Bachelors degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience.
Experienced in installing, configuring and upgrading SQL Server 2016, 2019 and 2022
Hands on experience in SQL Server 2019, maintaining memory tables, column store indexes, setting up polybase.
Setup and support Microsoft SQL Server with Reporting Services, Analysis Service, Integration Services, and Business Intelligence.
Must have experience in scripting languages (PowerShell) for automating DBA administrative tasks.
Must have experience with DevOps
Experience in deploying SQL Server and administrating in VMware virtualized environment and good understanding of Operating system concepts of Windows and Linux.
Experience in implementing SQL Server STIG implementation, testing, and other vulnerability remediation highly preferred
Good knowledge of capacity planning and architecture design for database server deployment.
Proven experience in working in a mission critical environment with database size of 20 TB plus.
In depth Knowledge of setting up Always on Availability groups (AAG) and other HA solutions.
Perform routine maintenance on several database environments including application of updates, patches, and hotfixes
Creating databases, migrating database objects from non-production to production environment.
Designing and building data models, schemas, views, and tables to support application requirements
Working knowledge of Database Security mechanism, data encryption, obfuscation, and auditing.
Extensive experience designing and executing backup and recovery concepts and procedures
Measure database performance and troubleshoot complex database issues, I/O bottlenecks, SQL Tuning and BI stack related issues.
Experience with job scheduling tools such as Control-M.
Provide 24 x 7 Support to Critical production systems.
