Hybrid 3 days in the office and 2 at home As the Senior Manager, Enterprise System Administration you will be responsible for Unix and Linux administration, Storage and back-up and recovery, in addition to AWS and Azure. In order to support a growing global environment, you will build the road map around Linux and the evolution of the systems, build strategy and execute projects. You will also manage a small distributed team of systems administrators, while remaining close to the technology, and at times contributing directly to the day-to-day infrastructure operations. Responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Enterprise System Administration: Plan, organize, coordinate, assign, and monitor all aspects of a technical team responsible for enterprise Linux/UNIX, SAN storage platforms, and backup/recovery, and redirect efforts as needed to meet operational and project requirements Apply strategic thinking to develop and regularly enhance the systems administration architecture through the creation of technology, process, and organizational roadmaps Serve as technical lead, escalation point, and coordinate resources to ensure critical incident tickets are worked and resolved per SLA requirements Interact with application owners, end users, other IT functions, and IT leadership to determine business requirements for the underlying systems infrastructure to ensure the smooth operation of those platforms Identify inflection points for process and technology enhancements that better serve the business. Evaluate vendors/products and make acquisition recommendations to IT leadership. Create implementation and support plans related to any new acquisitions Develop and monitor policies and standards for system allocation related to the use of computing resources Proactively identify and capitalize upon opportunities to share/re-use existing systems/components, where possible Build a project management culture within the team and oversee small to medium projects using the IT project management practice and tools Develop, maintain, and test systems to meet the requirements of the Enterprise Operations Disaster Preparedness Program to ensure an adequate prevention and recovery capability Augment the team where needed, bringing to action prior experience with enterprise UNIX/Linux, SAN storage, and backup/recovery systems administration. Perform Linux/Unix, SAN Storage, and Backup & Recovery Administration for Enterprise Operations, including installation, upgrades, patches, performance monitoring, fault analysis, security analysis, and capacity planning Position Requirements Unix and Linux administration. Working for employer who has had acquisition or scale rapidly. Acquisition integration. Project management experience would be desirable. AWS and Azure Required Experience Senior Manager, Enterprise System Administration: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical degree with 10+ years of professional work experience in an IT infrastructure role In lieu of degree, 18+ years of professional work experience in an IT Infrastructure role 5+ years of technical leadership experience required 10+ years working in a Linux/Unix environment 3+ years of Pure, EMC, Hitachi and/or Oracle SAN Storage Administration 3+ years of NetBackup, Veeam, and/or Azure Backup Administration 2+ years of Azure and/or AWS cloud server Administration Experience managing multiple team project workloads and delivering to agreed-upon project milestones Ability to clearly present technical approaches and findings in written and verbal formats Self-motivated and directed with the ability to perform without appreciable direction Keywords: information technology |
