Location: Remote, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia (DMV) are preferred. Contract Duration : 6 months+ Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, and Paid Holiday Visa: GC and USC SCOPE: Performs a variety of complex assignments associated with managing and controlling internal company computer operating systems. Sets up and maintains internal computer systems, analyzes system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on company's operating systems and hardware to detect problems. Evaluates and installs developed software during various phases of testing. Reviews and prepares documentation for systems, tests, and installation of software. Investigates and recommends methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to meet company requirements. Initiates preventive maintenance on internal operating systems as well as repair to system/environment problems. Administers and/or oversees systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules. Plans system/environment requirements for individual projects. May participate in the creation/maintenance of the overall management plan. May provide work direction and technical guidance to others PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables. Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. IMPACT: Erroneous recommendations or failure to obtain outcomes would normally result in project delays and considerable expenditure of resources. LIAISON: Interacts with management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of others. FREEDOM TO ACT: May be responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staff. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Having complete knowledge of this field and can handle seldom and unusual occurring job events. Ability to handle complex system administrator issues, with planning at the project/product level. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to nonexempt personnel. TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 8+ years of operating systems experience.
