They will also have to do an internal technical screening with one of my architects a 20 minute phone call Arlington County is currently implementing Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Human Resource Management System (HRMS) system. This new system will replace the County's current system for processing, tracking and managing data for critical human resources, finance, and procurement transactions. For this project, the County is seeking a mid-level data architect. The primary responsibility of this position is to integrate Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM data to the existing County data warehouse (AWS redshift). The candidate will serve as a key interface between the Department of Technology and other departments and must have demonstrated the ability to communicate and discuss business issues with technical and non-technical audiences at all organizational levels. The Data Architect will work closely with the technical manager and key stakeholders to implement data strategies and promote data management best practices for use across organization. Essential Duties: Develop database solutions to securely store and retrieve County information utilizing the Countys Amazon Web Services, (AWS) data warehouse and data lake architecture. Analyze structural requirements for new software and database systems. Integrate data from Oracle Cloud Fusion (SaaS) to new cloud-based solutions in AWS. Perform ETL tasks to integrate data from multiple heterogeneous sources using Microsoft SQL Server and AWS Redshift. Write stored procedures and queries to customize extraction procedures using Microsoft SQL Server and AWS Redshift. Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts Establish and maintain data standards and data dictionary to promote consistent data exchange across various systems Optimize new and current database systems (distribution, relational, object-oriented, cloud, centralized databases) Expertise in SQL is required. Desirable skills: Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Data Engineer or similar role In-depth understanding of database structure principles (Entity database design, relational database, standard structure, database normalization) Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements. Prior experience working in a software development team/environment. Experience in cloud technologies, specifically AWS suite of services; specifically Redshift, Glue, s3 Experience with FiveTran and DBT Experience in Machine Learning models a plus (AWS Sagemaker, Azure Machine Learning) Proficiency in MS Excel Familiarity with data visualization tools Microsoft PowerBI and required application security Proven analytical skills.
