Role: Mainframe Datacom Admin Location: Remote Duration: Long term Key Areas of Focus for this Role: o Best practices of software management, maintenance and documentation o Configure and manage CA Datacom, CA Datacom CICS Services, CA Datacom Server, CA Ideal and related products such as CA Dataquery, VSAM Transparency and CA IPC o Develop strategies, processes and best practices in CA Datacom systems programming o Establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, disaster recovery, product and database security, maintenance, and utilization o Reviewing new versions of CA Datacom and related products for functionality, advising how they benefit the client o Interacting with vendors for problems and questions o Disaster recovery of system and application databases o Troubleshooting and solving production database issues o Identification and resolution of performance issues o Database administration including administering and customizing CA Datacom, CA Dataquery, CA Datacom CICS Services, CA Ideal and CA IPC o Database design and experience with batch and online CA Datadictionary o Database monitoring including space monitoring and performance monitoring using CA Sysview o Coding and usage of CA Datacom and related products utilities o Support planned (disaster recovery) and unplanned (emergency) database recovery activities Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of professional experience in CA Datacom and related products for administration and systems programming support.
