This person will work with a principal data architect in the EDW design, which is star schema. Then modeling and ETL. The person will also work with a BI developer to create reports and dashboards. Position: Senior Data Architect Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of a Kimball Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The primary technology stack for this role will encompass Azure, Snowflake, and Power BI. Key Responsibilities: EDW Design: Collaborate closely with a Principal Data Architect to architect and design a robust Kimball-style Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). This includes developing a star schema model to support efficient data storage and retrieval. Data Modeling: Utilize your expertise to design and create data models that align with business requirements, ensuring data is structured and organized optimally for reporting and analysis. ETL Development: Design, implement, and maintain efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is extracted from source systems, transformed into the desired format, and loaded into the EDW accurately and efficiently. Data Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources into the EDW, ensuring data consistency and quality. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the data warehouse, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance overall system efficiency. BI Collaboration: Collaborate with Business Intelligence (BI) developers to create interactive and insightful reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI. Ensure that the reporting solutions meet the business's analytical needs. Data Governance: Implement and maintain data governance best practices, ensuring data security, integrity, and compliance with relevant data regulations. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, data models, ETL processes, and data integration procedures. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expertise and support in identifying and resolving data-related issues or anomalies as they arise. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data architecture and data warehousing, and proactively propose and implement improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science). Proven experience in designing and implementing Kimball-style Enterprise Data Warehouses. Proficiency in working with Azure, Snowflake, and Power BI. Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques. Expertise in SQL and data querying. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Data governance and data security knowledge. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Data Engineer, Snowflake Data Engineer, or Power BI certifications) are a plus.
