Background in leveraging Big Data, more interested in hands on experience vs education and certs Coursework or work experience using technologies for manipulating structured and unstructured big data. Big data technologies may include-but are not limited to-Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spark, relational databases, and NoSQL. Experience in data: -Analytics -Modelling -Warehousing -SQL -Relational database management systems (Oracle/UDB/Sybase) Can understand SAS code Call Notes: 3+ yrs. with Python, SQL, Snowflake / Snowflake schema, leveraging Big Data, wants hands n exp vs education and certifications. Willing to learn, JR / Mid-level python experience will work as long as they are willing to learn Like the last opening this manager had. Will not be developing, but they will update and will make changes to the code to manipulate and update the code as needed. Why is this position open: additional support, manager has a few different projects. Snowflake: MUST Have, one of the new projects the manager has requires Snowflake. Moving some data from the cloud to Snowflake will manage some of the schemas. Most of the role, look at data quality check using python. Moving some of the data from cloud onto a new warehouse, moving data there. Will balance out and manage the data quality check / data analytics on the source vs the target. Checking data quality out of credit application, they have staple code, they will not need to develop code from scratch. However, they do prefer someone with experience. knowledge using Big Data to enhance code, would be extremely helpful. Big data tech is Hadoop, slowly moving everything into the cloud, some are in Unix, so Unix experience would help. Simple commands.
