Can be remote- Golang developer with strong AWS, Docker and Terraform background that has created APIs from scratch. Can be remote- Technical Environment: This team does not own any tech that they build themselves. They support other internal technical teams. AWS focused This team is moving faster than other AMEX teams overall b/c of procedures. Terraform to allow to automatic creation of config files they let the robot/AI handle creating things, making sure that monitoring and security tools are in place. Deployment - making software changes faster - GitHub Actions - CI/CD pipelines that are more uniquely catered to their needs, scanning, notifying real time when code is not compliant with AMEX policy and instead of finding out 2 weeks after the change is made. Requirements: Candidates with strong Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform understanding who have been engineers. Candidates who have experienced a lot of the pains as engineers. Example: What would an ideal secrets management tool look like for an engineer Need experience with having to manage passwords in an environment to understand the workflow behind it. Have to have strong competency in a language and are willing to learn others. Golang or Java, NodeJS and Typescript. People with a growth mindset. Candidates who can implement in Java and can learn Golang and vice versa. Will reject anyone who has just worked on one language in their entire career like just Java / API development and has not branched out to Docker or a front-end applications. Front end understanding/exposure is important. Someone who has used different tools, has had exposure to different languages which speaks well. Need to have a development background and have had exposure to operations or have moved to DevOps/platform engineering. Will have to write an API. Need to actually architect / scalable infrastructure. They do not want a DevOps Engineer who is really a sys admin. Interview process ideally 2 rounds: Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. May require an associate's degree in a related area and 3-5 years of experience in Java or Golang or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
