Position : Devops Engineer with Pharma Location : Remote role Duration : Long term. Visa : USC & GC only Job type : C2C Role Description: Devops Engineers within the Development Enablement and Operations group need to be technically credible and will be supporting our software application development teams to build, deploy and operate our software stack and administer Engineering systems/tools. They will help automate our CI/CD environment that is built around our Gitlab orchestration server, maintain scripts/tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. The role includes requirements gathering, process development, change management, system customization, integration implementation and promoting standard practices. The position is expected to be hands-on in all aspects of the setup, configuration, delivery and maintenance of our DevOps systems and the infrastructure in which they reside. They will also coordinate with team members across different departments to communicate the rationale behind specific solutions or approaches to accomplish collaborative goals. Qualification/Experience: Develop sophisticated CI/CD pipelines, support continuous integration, delivery, and deployment requests. Maintain and improve backend infrastructure. Assist application teams in mobile and web app build automation. Complete code and script updates, as well as resolve product implementation errors. Monitor, analyze and report AWS cloud-based deployments. Oversee routine maintenance procedures and perform diagnostic tests. Conform to best practices in network administration and cybersecurity. Create and maintain technical documentation, guidelines, and standard operating procedures. Conduct code reviews and make technical contributions to infrastructure architecture as well as getting involved in solving bugs and delivering features. Generate and implement process improvements. Improve infrastructure quality, security, and performance. Participate/organize in incident management calls to quickly address service degradations or outages. Required Skills Include: 5+ years professional experience building mobile/web apps and creating scalable backend systems. Expert in using/ administering Gitlab, In-depth experience with Terraform/Terragrunt. Kubernetes/EKS cluster deployment and troubleshooting pod failures or related issues. Able to manage deployments in EKS managed Kubernetes, set up multi node clusters and deploy applications using Helm or manifest files. Experience with Helm charts deployments, version control with Helm, writing manifest files to deploy k8s objects/microservices. Expertise in creating Kubernetes config maps, ingress, and services. Containerized application development and container management, especially using Docker. Database knowledge, both relational (e.g. Postgres) and non-relational (e.g. DynamoDB). Expert in using Git (source control) Must have experience in writing scripts using UNIX shell/scripting languages (sh/bash, csh/tcsh) and Python. Java/Ruby knowledge is a bonus. Hands on experience with deploying and configuring AWS services. Demonstrable knowledge in AWS services such as IAM, LAMBDA, APIGW, EC2, ELB, Cloudfront, EBS, EFS, RDS, etc. Knowledge of identity management services such as Okta, IAM, and Cognito. Mobile app build experience using xcode and gradle. Experience with Android and iOS development frameworks. Experience in creating/managing maven artifacts. Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android and iOS applications to back-end services. Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, able to prioritize tasks, self-starter with the ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment both, independently and in a team setting. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to debug and troubleshoot effectively both helping developers and Infrastructure teams. Self-driven and able to work autonomously.
